came here to say same. has to be the undisputed dumbest organization in nba now.
the christian wood sign and trade idiocy (1. letting him go 2. attaching a pick to let him go and getting back absolute garbage).
Hayes over halliburton too.
just terrible miserable franchise all around
We stretched Dedmond’s contract over 5 years in order to waive him.
I dont get a single thing the pistons do / have done these last ~5 years

All these moves and they still in last 😂

We’re clearly doing a strategized tank lol, this is good

Well we just got a new GM a few months ago, and 5 years ago Stan was running things before Ed Stefanski took over, so you’d have to criticize a few guys (we do have a trash owner tho #FireTomGores) I like our new GM because I’m glad we’re finally committing to a tank as I’ve been saying we should do for a decade now. And it’s coming at the perfect time (2021 draft is absolutely loaded).
As for the Wood move, I love Wood and he is great, but his age and the contract he needs just does not fit at all with a tank. I would have liked to keep him, but it would have been a waste. And I don’t remember the details, but from what I checked by googling real quick we GOT a draft pick (didn’t give one away) in return for Wood
Finally, it’s beyond ridiculous to make a call on a draft pick literally less than a month into their playing career, and when they’re still 19
That being said, Bey and Stewart look phenomenal already, and I’m not dumb enough to call Hayes a bust this early. Although I will certainly agree he doesn’t look good rn, there’s still a longgggg way to go before you say that type of stuff. Halliburton was always thought to be more polished entering the draft and Hayes was always thought to require more time.

lets see if they nail the 2021 pick then. c wood is only 25 tho and y'all gave Grant a ridiculous contract instead of keeping wood. wood alone wouldve fetched a fantastic return if they decided to cash in on him later. plumlee deal strange one too with multiple years.
this is a weird tank. nothing normal about it and Casey isnt the coach for future. I think easily pistons had the worst offseason in the NBA, had a bad draft (sure Bey might be an 8th man one day), and have also hampered their future with these contracts. their is no defending the wood decision unless wood comes out and says no chance I was coming back to the D

Count outtank the Raptors
Count outtank the Raptors
If y’all out tank us with the amount of talent you have on your team compared to us then Nurse gotta be the worst coach of all time
Cade is obvi amazing, but I think I'm actually becoming an Evan Mobley Stan.
He's like the anti-Drummond
I love the intensity that Casey brings to our squad, and I feel like he’s done a solid job of developing some of our young players.
But he can get all the way the f*** out of here if he continues giving Corey Joseph’s near-30-year-old-ass minutes over the logjam of young guards we have. Tbh Joseph should just be waived to prevent Casey from giving him any further minutes. Either that or Casey needs to be fired.
We’re in the fight of our lives for this tank right now.

Joseph won’t be waived if he can’t sign with a playoff team. Isn’t he a free argent next season? More important question is do you keep Grant or trade him

Think they are gonna trade him to a contender and get more assets for the rebuild

He’s not a free agent, but only 2 mil of his salary is guaranteed if we waive him by the end of June from what I understand. Again, I just want him gone ASAP tho because I don’t want him sucking minutes from Hayes and Smith Jr, or our shooting guards.
As for Grant, I feel like we’re looking to keep him long term, unless an attractive offer came along. Plumlee on the other hand should be moved next season. He’s flirting with triple doubles this season, and he’s on a very reasonable and short contract.

Seems unlikely at this point, given that the trade deadline passed for this season, and if we don’t waive him or trade him by the end of June, we’ll be on the hook for his whole $12 million contract. And if I’m not mistaken, trades can’t be made again until July or August?

Y’all can trade him in the off-season? And he still got 2 more years left , don’t he?
Edit: nvm I’m talking about grant not Joseph

Ohhh gotcha, yeah it’s possible. From what I heard, we were getting low ball offers for Grant at the trade deadline this year (like just 2nd round pick type stuff), but if teams start to give us more enticing offers than sure.
