Like I said, I already know how this was gonna go so we can agree to disagree.
All I'm gonna add is that just because it's dubbed someone else's era it doesn't necessarily mean they're the best player of their generation.
how is it going to go?
I'm going to explain my argument based solely upon how well they play the game & their impact upon the floor?
Taking into account their weaknesses & strengths, looking into their ability to floor & ceiling raise
With no mention of accolades or aura or mythos or anything silly like that
Is that how you thought it would go?
You shouldn't just assume fam
I’m too old for that s***. But who knows could be but I don’t see it
Exactly, drake is becoming music for unc’s and old heads.

its not just him aging out... kanye and kendrick arent aged out

Yep. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
It’s funny when people say s*** like “The Drake era” because it’s solely tied to commercial success as opposed to influence, cultural impact, tastemaking or really pushing the genre forward in any meaningful way whatsoever so I never really understood why it was ever dubbed that at all.
It isn’t any different than how Lebron fans try to give him an “era” although Curry was way more revolutionary and impactful on basketball as a whole.
Maybe the conversation should be saved for the retrospective I guess
curry more influential than lebron??

I'd say he's more influential but that doesn't make him a better player. Curry's style of basketball changed how the game is played and since its more skill based it's more attainable for players coming up than Lebron's style. It's also why Iverson is among the most influential but there are many better players in the 2000's.

Yeah that wasn’t a super hot take not sure why he’s trippin
Being a 6’2 shooter is way more attainable than being 6’9 260

Objectively, today’s NBA reflects Curry’s style of play more it does than LeBron’s
Nobody is saying Curry is the better player
You have valid points but weird ones too. You said he didn’t carry the genre forward or do anything meaningful. I would argue he shaped the whole sound of hip hop from at least 2010-2018/20
The whole sound?

You guys conflating rap with NBA is the craziest s*** ever man
Good
The game needs to move on and find new stars. Drake hasn’t brought anything fresh to the table in ages and relying on him to carry only hurts hip hop in the long run
Imagine being this b**** made

Iverson influenced Post Malone too

Which would be…?
Idk man
His popularity definitely took a massive hit but I think all things considered $$$4U was pretty well received for what it was as was Nokia
If he drops something significant on his next solo (some catchy singles and/or a strong body of work) he’s right back, like you said Kendrick ain’t replace him he just destroyed him and left a vacuum and no one is stepping in to fill that void
Just an album of Nokias will be rock solid
Which would be…?
