The Fix and the Lost Tapes >>>>>
I've played Missy Elliot's Under Construction and Lord Willin more too.
This is a good album tho, it has some of his best songs on it
I loved The Fix....but no one goes really goes back to that and says it's anything but a really good album.
Lost Tapes is a compilation, a great compilation, but one that is specifically for Nas fans. Lord Willing and CHWM are classics....but not the most impactful albums of that year.
TES had the broadest appeal of any album released in 2002 and is actually a super well crafted album with some of the best verses in Em's career.
Lyrically this is his pinnacle. No one was f***ing with the white boy's pen around this time. 2002 was his moment.
i play songs from the fix all the time even in 2020 tbh.
The Fix has the biggest Scarface song My Block on it too. 3 or 4 early classic ye beats. It's the most returned to album of a rapper in a lot of people's top 10s and top 5s.
He was reaching out to so many people at that time too. It's got ye, the neptunes, beanie, hov, nas, kelly price and the guy from 10cc (classic 70s rock band) even directed one of his videos for it.
He was never a mainstream star like Em but that project has still reached a lot of people beyond his usual fans.
They not better than TES.
This and Nellyville made Hip Hop blow up world wide.
Shout out to Dutty Rock also.
