Found out reading a comments section on ESPN at my friends house. I’ll never forget the exact moment. I had to call my mom as soon as I got the news
I was in my grandmas kitchen and she told me and then we watched the news on her tiny ass tv
On the bus home from school. Had to explain to my siblings who he was and Torrent songs for them to hear.
Mike was the most talented entertainer ever but y’all putting him over Stevie Wonder on what basis?
getting ready for school in the first house i lived in, felt surreal bc i was like 8 and knew MJ but obviously didn’t have the same connect with him as my parents did. never seen my mom look so confused and lost fr
recession had hit my parents bad and we had to move out to the projects for a little while after that
a little while turned to 3/4 years
this moment def felt like it marked the beginning of that moment in time for me
Where were you when you heard the news?
my family had gone to a family friends house and saw it get announced on the news
it was weird because I knew plenty of Michael Jackson songs at that point but didn't know by name who Michael was. My mom and her friend were shook but it didn't really sink in until we were driving back home and they were playing MJ songs in a marathon

shut the f*** up!!
Had just got home from school and turned on the tv and it was the first thing I saw. Ran outside to my friend’s apartment across the neighborhood and was telling anyone I saw “MICHAEL JACKSON IS DEAD” kids really got no self awareness lolol
Real productive discussion
you coming in a memorial thread comparing two legends unprovoked
make a new thread or keep it moving
RIP MIKE
!https://youtu.be/C2FUzoy-UCgWhy hasn’t this gotten the critical reappraisal it deserves?
The GOAT of all GOATS.
Gone too soon.
I feel like MJ would have loved the
early parts of the social media era like around 2011-2015 when it was all new, the late 2010s and 2020s kinda took it down a dark path but it was fun back then and less controlled

I’m literally responding to the title. That’s not unprovoked. Making a thread saying “MJ is not the greatest artist of all time and here’s why” just to have all the responses be trolling is dumb when I can just post in here

MJ on Vine would’ve gone crazy
What you’re really missing is how he would’ve ran the EDM scene
