Always used the radio as my alarm back then, for memory he died overnight Sydney time so I was awoken to it being discussed on the news

Had to go out but once I got home that afternoon it was just all MJ news and videos for like that whole night

Still remember this one super melodramatic report on one station really vividly, they had Will You Be There playing with footage of him playing stadiums etc then intercut with footage of him being rushed into the ambulance, meanwhile the reporter talking over the footage was like almost in tears saying s*** like "I wonder what his last thoughts were as they had him on the stretcher... hopefully something peaceful, or the knowledge of the joy he brought..."

S*** was hella on the nose tbh but it stuck with me
