The Handmaid's Tale
Published in 1985
Testaments
The brilliant sequel published three decades later
Who else has read these ?
What are your thoughts ?
The good / the bad ?
Personally, I find The Handmaid's Tale to be the better book of the two. However, that is not to say that Testaments is a bad book. The Handmaid's Tale simply sucked me in like a book hasn't done in years. It brought back the feeling of actually being excited to read, something I last felt reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy almost 10 years ago. It is just that riveting. Atwood's writing made the pages fly by and never left me bored or disinterested in what I was reading.
Wild how the first one was published in 1985 and still holds up
Still haven't read testaments

First one holds up so well, reading it you have no way of telling it was released so long ago.
Testaments is neat in how it connects the stories but it’s not quite everything the original is

Haven't read testaments, but it seems unnecessary IMO. Will have to peep to make sure tho
Show is good
Until season 3. Then it drags. Season 1 was genuinely terrifying though
Random but did anyone ever check out her MasterClass (either legally or illegally) in creative writing? She’s truly one of the greats

Yeah! An incredible writer for younger audiences
Same lol I used to binge all his books
Probably where my interest in horror stems from
