One thing I do agree with Joe is that Kendrick has been “chosen” to step in as then next guy in hip hop to replace Drake
,since he fell out with UMG.
Meaning the powers that be in Music are going to make sure he gets priority in everything . They’ve clearly pressed a button on Kendrick’s career just like they did for Drake.
I say this because as a Kendrick fan I’ve never seen this much Kendrick promotion and placement as I’ve seen this year. If you pay attention, you can always tell when an artist has become the top priority at the label.
I’m seeing him posted on social media pages that have nothing to do with music, which is weird because Kendrick has never been heavy on social media or anything non-music related. And this is just one example of what I’m noticing.
This narrative is so disrespectful to kendrick i'm shocked its coming from joe lmao
maybe if not like us was a "see you again" type song that was handed to him like it was to wiz khalifa, but this was the most spontaneous event of the year and kendrick forced the world to pay attention

It’s not a diss to Kendrick, he’s still my favorite rapper from this era.
I’m simply talking about the momentum and the promotion around him this year. It looks much different than any year of his career. To me it says UMG is supporting him in a way they haven’t previously.
If you think mainstream music success just happens 100% “organically” , I’ve got news for you bruh: IT DOESNT.
At some point, no matter how good the music is , you still need labels and poweful people behind the scenes making things happen.

As much as i am happy for Dot i hope this isnt a bad thing for him personally or his career in the long run

I think Dot is smart enough to keep to his artistic integrity and stick to what built his core fan base.
I need to hear the pods thoughts on the Drake petition, what episode is that?
It happened while they were reacting to gnx today, 2 hours in
