UoujIt’s not a diss to Kendrick, he’s still my favorite rapper from this era.
I’m simply talking about the momentum and the promotion around him this year. It looks much different than any year of his career. To me it says UMG is supporting him in a way they haven’t previously.
If you think mainstream music success just happens 100% “organically” , I’ve got news for you bruh: IT DOESNT.
At some point, no matter how good the music is , you still need labels and poweful people behind the scenes making things happen.

He’s in direct contact with TDE/PGlang, but he can’t come out and blatantly say “ I talked to Kendrick’s team and there’s another project dropping soon”, so he poses it as a theory.
GNX feels like a mixtape versus what we usually get from a Kendrick album. Most Kendrick fans didn’t think this was an “album” either.

Of course. Execs wanna get paid, don’t matter who makes the music. But there is also greater demand for Kendrick’s music than there has been before. Labels wouldn’t push it if it didn’t resonate on some level.
