He’s in direct contact with TDE/PGlang, but he can’t come out and blatantly say “ I talked to Kendrick’s team and there’s another project dropping soon”, so he poses it as a theory.
GNX feels like a mixtape versus what we usually get from a Kendrick album. Most Kendrick fans didn’t think this was an “album” either.
Nah you right I just finished and right around the end joe basically admitted he's heard some of the songs not on the album
Funny how with flip if the topic is anything sports or music related you forget he's even in the building
That taylor made rerun of "nah this time you following thru" was gold
@Valentine u really a legend man nigga turnt the thread up real quick

I haven’t been fw JBP Pod since the Rory And Mal breakup but Joe’s HipHop debates & takes are more compelling than RNM at times

Joe is unfuckwitable when he gets into his hip hop deep dive bag
He just doesn't do it nearly as much now due to his lack of interest in alot of the current artists/music
One thing I do agree with Joe is that Kendrick has been “chosen” to step in as then next guy in hip hop to replace Drake
,since he fell out with UMG.
Meaning the powers that be in Music are going to make sure he gets priority in everything . They’ve clearly pressed a button on Kendrick’s career just like they did for Drake.
I say this because as a Kendrick fan I’ve never seen this much Kendrick promotion and placement as I’ve seen this year. If you pay attention, you can always tell when an artist has become the top priority at the label.
I’m seeing him posted on social media pages that have nothing to do with music, which is weird because Kendrick has never been heavy on social media or anything non-music related. And this is just one example of what I’m noticing.
I see it too
But the thing is Kendrick is in a weird spot
GNX was a test to see how people will respond to a commercialized Kendrick album with no overall concept which is being received well for the most part
But he’ll have to stick to making commercial bops & be outside more often if he wants that spot which he may have to sacrifice his artistry for
My nigga we follow each other i got the video
Can you please DM the video bro?
Getting to see the episode was truly a blessing 🙏
Now just need to see Patreon where they breakdown Euphoria and 6:16 and I’m good
Marc pissed me tf off with the contrarian pac takes. Dumbass nigga
I think he’s dead ass
From a pure lyrical standpoint he’s not really wrong.
Pac had mad lyrical abilities but he chose to use broad brush strokes a lot of times to portray his messages
Didn’t get into wordplay much which is what I think ppl who make this argument get caught up on.
I don’t think they get that it was a deliberate choice in style not a limitation
Joe budden pushing the “this isn’t the album” narrative extremely aggressively
Late in the pod, he did say he’s privy to how the upcoming music sounds and hyped it up a lot too.
That was a great pod. Hate him or love him, Joe is very compelling with these types of deep dives.
