I don't follow it super close anymore but the reasoning hasn't really been put out there like that, to my knowledge. The funny thing about the first firing is that it had to do with Julian. Eddin was their camera guy, editor, engineer etc and got drunk with Julian, punched Julian in the face. They made jokes about it on the pod and after the episode dropped, I guess people got in Julian's ear and it got serious for him. Rory and Mal fired him after and I think the aftermath of that firing has been less messy than this

Everything Julian has said so far about it in his videos makes it sound like he pushed for more money on what seemed like a contract renewal negotiation and the two sides couldn't align.

The money part he said explicitly, the contract renewal part is a guess from me because if he was still in the middle of his current contract then there would be no reason for them to fire him while denying his request for a raise, he would've had to quit.
