I listened some more to this episode. This a long f***ing post. OMG.

Anyway...

It was good Rory told Joe off at the end. Joe is a complete idiot sometimes. He really insults me and others intelligence by some of the s*** he said in that convo and throughout the whole episode for that matter.

Joe last two episodes has been horrible. He just talks out of his ass. Stop with the bullshit. Mans caping, deflecting and using semantics. Mans just lying and must think the fans are stupid, and him tryna justify it. And he always tryna change "what he really said" when called out on something.

Like the spitting s***. They did tryna normalize that it has happened to every man, or most men. And that Mal was being the weirdo in that convo. Then tryna say thats not what they or he said and then backpedalled. When Mal told him that was exactly what they and backed it up.

Joe saying artists "should get f***ed but learn from it and leverage it back later" was f***ing crazy. That it is what he said verbatim one time in the episode. We shouldnt be evolving and fix this problem? What about the artists that get f***ed, sign away their publishing and get stuck? That never make it big. Dawg what are you even saying. How is that not enslaving artists or someone being completely reliable on a label or a person?

Fine. Sometimes as an artist you sign away your pub, or in the best of worlds, a part of it. To someone that is a person or a company that wants to invest in you, because they believe in you and can help you. Financially. Promote you. Develop your talent. Enhance it. Produce you. Show a path etc. But still let you have your freedom to create. For that they deserve to get money back on their investment. Or lose the money. Because that is just how investing goes. They shouldnt own you though and they should not rob you. Just because you are poor af or not aware whats going on when you sign the deal, because you desperate and it is "good business" for them. That it is f***ing horrible way to look at it, and thats Mal point about the enslavement thing.
