Part 2
His point throughout the whole Mase/Diddy conversation is basically that it is "bad business" for Puff to give it back. Why should he just "give it back". But what is right though? Is it right for him to just continue to keep it? Because Diddy might have helped put on Mase to the masses? His involvment in creating music or the style etc. Because Diddy of course was the driving force behind his career. Badboy era etc. But what about what Mase did for Diddy. All the hit records he wrote. Would Diddy have made it as big in music and be able to build his empire without someone like Mase? Like who owes who what. Obviously Diddy deserves everything he has. His work ethic and for what he has done. But why hold on to the publishing. Now. Still. Why not just let Mase get it back? Or let him pay for it back. It cant be just about the money. And if Puff is not even in the music industry anymore, according to Joe..., which is a crazy f***ing statement once again. Sure, Diddy is focused on other things because he is a businessman. He is far from out of the music industry though. So why hold on to it? Because Mase career faded out? Mase dont have the money to actually buy it? Thats enslaving him to a deal he signed when he probably didnt know any better. Ignoring what they both did for each other. It cant be just about the money or "business is business". Diddy is a billionaire...
Labels and powerful people cant keep on just doing what they have been doing. Of course they need to profit to sustain their business. There is a need for a different approach now and real change happen when leaders or powerful people/companies start doing it. That includes not robbing people to get a profit. And the annoying part is that Joe, that has spoken about a need for change and being on the artists side. Now took the standpoint and having arguments like "it is bad business (to sell it/give it back", "business is business", "you have to learn from the mistakes you make" and all the other bullshit arguments. That is not being on the artists side, thats the complete f***ing opposite. That is not growth at all or making things better. That is status quo.
If you cared to read I hoped it made some sense. I got more thoughts on this and Joe for that matter... and some of his bullshit. I like the podcast though and been listening since the early beginning of it. I really enjoy it, most of the time. I like the funny s*** more and not these industry conversations.
3 things you can't expect from this podcast:
My real nigga sources tell me all black current media as it is should just dodge any topic with Jay or Puff’s name in it my g.
They treat those like Oprah treat Harvey yo.
He didnt have to call out Diddy or slander him. There was a different way of handeling it though. Without complete turning against all that he has spoken of before and what his narrative has been.
Why should we believe a word he has said? That he is all about the artists getting what they deserve. The latest episodes proves he just a hypocrite.
But does it really come as a surprise?
And he cant hold on to how he fought everybody during his music career anymore. It doesnt hold any weight anymore.
Since his podcast blew up. He has become more and more industry as time has passed. The people he fought during his career are his "friends" now. He is in business with them and talks behind the scenes with higher ups at labels. He is defending the way they practice their business in these latest two episodes. Everything that he has previously fought and spoken against.
But I guess him making more money than he ever did as an artist changes things. Relationships with powerful people changes things. This a dude that was basically blackballed by the same people and industry before.
This "let creators create" has been a good spiel but it is bullshit now. Fairplay to him for learning from past mistakes in is own career. Turning it around by doing something different. But when he takes the standpoint he does now, he is a part of the problem and not the solution.
Artists should not be put in a position where you is f***ed from the beginning and that IF you succeed, you can get it back. A big if.
Big up stupid ass Rory
Joe was talking out his ass and wouldn't admit he was wrong and started calling names cause he was wrong
He literally always does this. He bullies anyone that challenges his moronic stances that emphasize his ignorance. Then they just stop checking him when he says dumb s***. Makes me not wanna listen to the podcast anymore honestly
Why were they so upset about Lil Nas X doing a song with Nas? They really didn’t think it would’ve happened eventually? At least they worked together regardless of the reason.
@laflame is right
Joe's entire persona (anti-industry) hes established is dead now.
He cant really be upset with Def Jam and Shady forcing him to compromise his sound when hes defending labels robbing artists now. Despite everything that happened to him, at least his checks from those eras still look right.
Now comprehend if Joe had a hand in multiple singles as big or bigger than Pump it Up and he wasnt getting paid well for it. That's what Mase is going through right now
Why were they so upset about Lil Nas X doing a song with Nas? They really didn’t think it would’ve happened eventually? At least they worked together regardless of the reason.
Nas is a rare feature in the industry many artists dreamt of doing a song with him and never did
Just another industry favor
“Nas wouldn’t genuinely do this” is what everybody saying
Joe telling Rory he can't believe he is that stupid because Rory was disproving his point says alot about Joe and was a low point of the show. Them niggas we're about to fight
“Well apparently he’s ‘really bright’... but there is something to be said for being ‘really bright’ until the lights hit” he still got it
Joe telling Rory he can't believe he is that stupid because Rory was disproving his point says alot about Joe and was a low point of the show. Them niggas we're about to fight
Joe throws low blows and gets in his garbage hate bag when losing an argument. I’m glad Rory stood his ground and didn’t budge.

He is a bully.
Then calls people ”defensive” and ”sensitive”. When he the most sensitive of them all when they simply don’t agree with him and they are proving him wrong.

They were about to fight because of a debate
And the Rory and Joe both was basically saying the same thing just in a different way
It was a stupid argument to begin with but I loved the tension

I swear that’s most of their arguments too
Yall finally realizing how trash of a debater joe is lol
Dude argues like he’s drunk. Cant explain his points well and when people disagree with him he gets loud and defensive af and tries to throw insults to make himself seem smarter
Dawg Mal actually articulated his points on that Gale situation SO well. Bodied that.
