Listen, this isn’t a thread to claim that Drake is “washed” or that he’s gonna “fall off” soon. I’m just saying there a lot of things he has said over the years, alluding to his rap career coming to a close in the next couple of years. :(
His new music is still miles ahead of that of his contemporaries, however the “magic” is seemingly becoming more elusive. What I mean to say is that from 2012-2016, the music he was putting out captivated us at a much higher rate than the music he has released in the last 3-4 years.
“I’m assuming everybody’s 35 and under, that’s when I plan to retire it’s already funded.”
He has also mentioned multiple times wanting to step away from his music career and revive/pursue his acting career.
I feel with Drake becoming a father, he will want to slow his music career down to focus on his relationship with Adonis.
...
...
All I’m saying is that in 2013, Drake said that in a 10-chapter book of his music career, he was in chapter 4. So by now, 8 years later, we gotta be in chapter 8 or 9 and that makes me sad.
Drake’s music has changed my life and I’m sure if you’re ITT it’s changed your life too.
It’s been an amazing ride; nostalgic to reflect upon and upsetting to realize it’ll come to a conclusion soon.
i don’t think its this time yet, but next album we can have this discussion
You think so?
How many albums you think he’ll put out after CLB? Cause I get the feeling it’ll only be 1.

2-3 more, he said he wasn’t gonna stop soon in the rap radar interview. its sad we’re this close to the end though lmao.
Drake is far too competitive to just STOP making music he may slow down but I highly doubt he bows out
If CLB goes perfectly, I think we'll get 2-3 more projects over the next few years at a much slower rate until he's at a Jay Z like stage. And those 2-3 will only come out when he feels truly inspired
Drizzy the Tom Brady of rap. He not going away and he’ll always be in the conversation year in and year out.
Lmao these young artists starting the game as fathers. Nonsense
Drake different than almost all the rappers in the game tho. As far as the “big” names go, him and Cole are the most mature, who would be willing to step away from music to focus on their respective families.
So the consensus ITT so far is 2-3 more projects...
Regardless, if it’s 1, 2, or 3, we’re really close to the end of the journey and that’s sad to think about.

I think he gonna go for more albums than Jay so I'm thinking plenty more albums

Idk.. I don’t see that happening.

How are you mourning something before it's dead? You'll only see Drake "fans" doing stupid s*** like this.
There aren't only 10 chapters in a story bro
I think the interviewer who asked him what chapter he was in during NWTS era phrased it as being a 10 chapter book
But I feel you, there’s no reason he can’t add more chapters or even write a second book

The interviewer asked him “if the story of Drake is a 10 chapter book, what chapter are we in?” And drake said 4.

Fairs, I just think the chapters got elongated at this point. No way the boy is slowing down anytime soon. He debunked the 35 retirement thing and is in his prime. And we’re in a pandemic, man ain’t toured for a few years. The comeback is about to be brazy. Plus I think we can all see Drake dropping some 4:44 type s*** in his 40s or dropping some or straight R&B heat in the latter of his career. He’s too versatile

What? That’s the dumbest s*** I’ve ever heard. If you knew someone you care about was gonna die next month, surely you’d be sad, knowing you only have a month left with him/her?
That doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy the time remaining you have, but knowing the end is coming soon is...sad...?

and got roasted for it lol. if you can think objectively and not as a stan, the writing is on the wall. drake is an extremely self-aware person, and i’m pretty sure he has realized this himself
