idk what point you’re trying to make lmao. CLB is going to drop, and it will be successful. smh, I don’t even know why I try to have objective debates with people who have anything drake related in their names

Just saying bro, this argument of “the writing is on the wall, the decline has started” has been an argument that we’ve heard every album cycle. Pretty much proved it wrong every time. All I’m saying is this time it won’t be different lol
Not only will it be successful but will have great reception.... again

“Uhhh no not anymore. I think when I was like 20 something it sounded better” were Drake’s words in the rap radar interview. So I doubt it. I’ve said countless times I can see Drake going strictly RnB in his 40s.

It does certainly seem we’re nearing the end of the tunnel in terms of his rap career. I would venture a guess that the later end of the 20s (2027-2028) he goes into actor, RnB only mode. Still get at least 4 more project before then IMO

and got roasted for it lol. if you can think objectively and not as a stan, the writing is on the wall. drake is an extremely self-aware person, and i’m pretty sure he has realized this himself

    Much deserved roasting

A man jumps out of a 12 story building. 10 stories down he says "see, this didn't hurt at all".

Is your argument that he will never fall off / top being as active? Because if not, saying "people always say this" doesn't make much sense here.

With that said, I think he will slow up but we'll still get features and albums just dew and far between. Jay Z mogul s***

Will he fall off by HIS standards one day, yeah I’m sure we’ll see a very slight decline in the years to come. I say “HIS” standards bc he’s in a class of his own. Even when that day comes when we say he “fell off” I doubt he’ll ever become completely irrelevant or even end up being the #2 guy in the game. He’ll finish #1 as long as he puts out music, the chokehold on hip hop just won’t be as tight as it’s been the last decade. There will be more competitors. His music is too diverse and all encompassing to see a significant fall off. He’ll go out out on his terms, when he’s done we’ll just recognize he’s not in his prime anymore.

For me, being in your prime as far as quality of music is determined by whether or not you can produce a song or two each album where we can say “yeah this some of his best s*** ever.” There’s not a doubt in my mind he will do that again on CLB

Weird standard. Jay Z had some of his arguably best tracks on 4:44. Is he in his prime?

Listen, this isn’t a thread to claim that Drake is “washed” or that he’s gonna “fall off” soon. I’m just saying there a lot of things he has said over the years, alluding to his rap career coming to a close in the next couple of years. :(

    • His new music is still miles ahead of that of his contemporaries, however the “magic” is seemingly becoming more elusive. What I mean to say is that from 2012-2016, the music he was putting out captivated us at a much higher rate than the music he has released in the last 3-4 years.

    • “I’m assuming everybody’s 35 and under, that’s when I plan to retire it’s already funded.”

    • He has also mentioned multiple times wanting to step away from his music career and revive/pursue his acting career.

    • I feel with Drake becoming a father, he will want to slow his music career down to focus on his relationship with Adonis.

    ...
    ...

All I’m saying is that in 2013, Drake said that in a 10-chapter book of his music career, he was in chapter 4. So by now, 8 years later, we gotta be in chapter 8 or 9 and that makes me sad.

Drake’s music has changed my life and I’m sure if you’re ITT it’s changed your life too.

It’s been an amazing ride; nostalgic to reflect upon and upsetting to realize it’ll come to a conclusion soon.

Drake is a machine. He’s not like these other artists. He has melody, he’s tapped in and he will stick around. His music is actually more captivating now than ever. He’s in his 2nd prime like LeBron
