Question for the people who read the leaks, do you not plan on playing the game?
Like why wait years for this just to spoil the whole story 2 months before release

Pretty much the synopsis of the whole plot leaked. All the major plot points and context of the story not the finer details that can enhance our experience so that's a plus?

The ending is not confirmed at all though, there's also 2 violent cutscenes that seem pivotal

    smh

How can a story be as bad as people are saying?... I feel like some people are just going insane and saying its garbage without even playing it. The story for Last of Us looked like a conventional s*** story too : Transport girl who's immune to a gang.

It didn't say anything about Joel and Ellies relationship or Sam and Henry. What made that game sick was the characters not the story. The story was just a simple thing

Whatever these leaks are Druckmann has proven himself to be one of gaming’s best writers and I have faith in him making it work

If anything this makes me even more excited, judging from how divisive the reactions are it sounds like the game makes some pretty daring choices, which is exactly what I want from a TLOU sequel

I’d be way more disappointed if they ended up making a safe and predictable sequel, and it doesn’t seem like that’s the case here

Also anyone mad at there being “politics” in the game is a f***ing loser lmao

Yeah I agree 100%. Making a simple story or safe one is what a s*** director or writer does. It's not what a good writer/director does. They take a risk with what they write. I know its a movie but some people hated the movie Se7en when it came out. Now its a classic because of its choices

Lol I don't understand how politics is bad for someone unless they have the brain of an 8 year old

The truth is that for the most part game stories are extremely mediocre and that's cause 99.9% of video game stories are as generic and predictable as you can get, in general the bar is so low for video game storytelling that people will praise a game's story just for not being complete ass

If we wanna be really honest here, a lot of the game stories that are considered good are probably about the same level of quality as an average Netflix original show. There are some decent stories out there sure, but are there any game stories that can stand up to something like There Will Be Blood?

Off the top of my head I can think of 5, maybe 10 game stories that would make more than just mediocre to average movies or TV shows and pretty much all of them make daring and bold choices that would probably sound like ass out of context or as a bullet point on a Reddit post.

Art in itself is inherently political and has been since the dawn of time lmao, some of the absolute best stories are extremely political so it's always weird to me when I see people talking about "keep politics out of entertainment"

Who knows, I could be wrong, and the game's story might end up being a mess, but I'm definitely not writing it off because some gamers are mad about some out of context cutscenes (and idc how many cutscenes have leaked, I don't want anyone trying to tell me that tens of hours of gameplay isn't context lmao)

As someone who found tlou1 incredibly average, I read the spoilers for this cause I didn't care. Now I'm actually interested enough to buy the game even though I'm sure the actual gameplay will be boring and over reliant on the cinematic s***

Main reason I want this game now is because I know it's going to be challenging to beat

  • I love how more ppl are complaining about ND's gameplay NOW than they were back in 2013 or whatever, UC4's shooting and level design are such a step up from UC2/3 (even tho I still like those games) that it's not even funny

I don't really care about the events described in the leaks. I feel like most people are overreacting.

But I'm fine with this being the thing that makes people stop gargling Naughty Dog balls and claiming they can't miss.

Idk if I'll get it day 1 but I'll get it eventually

I already know that but a lot of s*** happens between gameplay and cutscenes, this is probably gonna be like a 15-20 hour game and I’m assuming all the cutscenes make up about 3 or so hours, you’re still missing a lot of context

Eh watching most video game movie compilations with just only cutscenes and minimal action. You can piece together a decent story or not in my opinion. Not the best way to watch a game, but it's a way if you're just casually interested.
