Dark Hospital or Hotel basement which one had you more stressed lol
Dark Hospital for sure. Rat King aside, the clickers on the walls had me shook AF

Hospital 100%. S*** was straight out of Resident Evil
Took me way too long to learn you can hold triangle to pick up everything at once
There’s an Accessibility option that auto picks up things you’re near
Just beat it and I thought it was great. There are definitely valid criticisms but some people are seriously overreacting. Fantastic game and one of the best of the generation 100%
subverting expectations has
become my nightmare in media
why is this a thing
why not naturally build on what you've established and give people closure
looking at you the last jedi
and as a result rise of skywalker
people using buzzwords with no meaning like subverting expectations as a lazy way to complain about stories not going the way they wanted rather than offering any meaningful criticism is a much bigger and much worse trend than any actual "subverting of expectations"

i think this is true
but the last jedi is a prime example of legitimate gripes with "subverting expectations"
that movie actively went against what the force awakens tried to set up and it ruined the sequel trilogy imo
the problem isn't going left... the problem is going left when you've already set up your course to go right
the evidence is clear in what they tried to do in rise of skywalker to course correct
Not really liking this second half of the story at all, s*** dragging on now
I feel this
Ngl though I still feel like a sequel existing takes away from the ending of the first game. Like that ending was so great and not knowing what’s going to happen to Ellie and Joel after left a big emotional impact. Now someone can beat the first game and immediately boot up part 2 and see what happens lol

Personally I think The Last Jedi contradicts absolutely nothing in The Force Awakens (a movie that set up absolutely nothing because JJ Abrams has gone on record saying he had literally no plan for what would happen after it and had no intention on following on anything he introduced)
in many ways that movie works as a logical progression from the previous movie, it just wasn't the progression some people wanted which led to a lot people using subverting expectations as a blanket statement rather than offer any real criticism beyond "it wasn't what I wanted"
but I don't want to spend more time debating on a movie that has already been debated to death
my main issue with the discourse surrounding this game is even comparing it to s*** like Star Wars in the first place
this is the problem with something like this reaching blockbuster status; people expect it to suddenly follow blockbuster storytelling conventions when it's never tried to do that in the first place, this games have never told Joseph Campbell Hero's Journey type of story at all
I keep seeing people talking about comic book movies and Star Wars as reference points for their arguments when some of the main inspirations behind these games is s*** like No Country for Old Men The Road and Children for Men, stories that don't follow those same type of storytelling conventions whatsoever, stories where none of the narrative decisions in this game would be out of place at all
yall are in here talking about Spiderverse, an animated kids movie, when one of this series' biggest inspirations is a movie that kills off its supposed protagonist offscreen about halfway through the movie and provides the audience with absolutely zero resolution, it's just odd to me
Yeah now I’m feeling a 2nd playthrough with all the upgrades. Tell the WLF, Scars, and undead I’m coming through these f***s ain’t ready

hm
i respect your thoughts
salute
My girl is so invested in this story, that she doesnt want me to play it when she isnt home
After reflecting, I definitely think I f\*\*\*ed with Abby’s story and journey in this game more than Ellie’s
That said, these characters go through hell in this game. LITERAL HELL. As great as I think the first game is, it does not compare to the s*** you have to do as a player in this.
What other game has combat this f***ing dope??
I swear there are endless ways to approach a fight in this game
This is one of the very few experiences I've had with any medium where it's had an effect on my life beyond the game/art itself.
Thanks to this game, I was able to build a deeper bond with my dad & a new found appreciation for all he does for our family.
This game made me feel like you can't take anything for granted & to cherish every moment you have with the people you love.
I'm so glad this game exists
Realist post on this thread
Man knows to pander to his audience and keep them on his good side all while he juggles a sexual assault case against him
you mean a baseless claim where the chick even backpedaled on her original statement? yeah definitely doesn't sound fake to me at all...
Angry joe doing nothing but b****ing while playing this game on stream lol
if you've been watching the previous streams he's made his problems w the game clear, and he was enjoying up until the abby part
I really really disliked playing with Abby. Like that gameplay was way too f***ing long and predictable.
They made her this unbelievable character too only because of the agenda but that's what's not bothering me.
The storytelling was really bad compared to the first one imo

Yeah the replay value is gonna be god tier because of this very reason.
Ex. I sniped all these f***s from that island across the way
