So who do we think had the better campaign?
SPOILERS BELOW
2 amazing campaigns, combining to make one of the most intense, white knuckle, epic action adventure games ever made.I'm gonna go with Abby. Which tbh I'm kinda disappointed in ND a bit for it, as I feel like they gave this new chick the better campaign but it still made for an awesome game.
Ellie's was epic as well, and had the one big open world level along with the cool flooded city section.
And just when you think the game is winding down, whoops, you find out you just hit the halfway mark. A game hasnt done that for me in such a long time.
But Abbys had the the better boss fights. Fight with that giant f***er on the island as well as against the Rat King. I also felt like her and Lev really bonded as well. Also going through all those floors in the skyscraper where the stalkers were attached to the walls was badass, and some really good level design. She also had the Sky bridge level, which was some straight up Uncharted type s*** that I really did not expect to find here in this game. I felt like Abbys was more intense in general.
Game was just so stunning from a campaign standpoint man I just cant stand it. How tf does ND plan on topping this??

I mean if we’re going by pure gameplay, Abby by far had the better campaign
The best combat sequences (sniper mission, the entire Enflamed city sequence, the rat king which is like a legit prime RE tier horror fight, etc). Abby gets the dopest weaponry too.
But I was always more emotionally moved with Ellie’s gameplay. The quiet moments were some of my favorite moments of the game (Ellie playing guitar, the flashback with joel, talking to dina in the music shop, the open world level)

Yeah I can't decide tbh
Abby had the better set pieces and boss fights. Also Abby had the better weapons, the moment I found the flamethrower was amazing lol
But I also love ellies campaign, discovering the gameplay and this new environment and all the different factions and infected for the first time was thrilling af.

So many amazing things about this game I'm so glad they said screw the multiplayer this go around. Pretty much almost every other studio in the biz wouldn't have the balls to do that because they would be scared of missing out on their precious sales.
However hopefully the multiplayer they add in the future is awesome for all the players who care about that.
As for me personally, I play ND games for amazing, AAAA quality single player experiences and they delivered in spades, contrary to personal story decisions that were made.

Yup, because in actuality, the haters who are so butthurt about this games story need to understand something;
They could have easily if they wanted threw together another campaign where you play as Joel and Ellie again. But that was already done the first game. If they did that, then folks would have complained that the game felt too similar to the first game.
I'm glad they took the controversial route and gave us something this memorable.
I think if your games story inspires ppl to give death threats to the creators(which is never acceptable)then you did something right lol. Better than having ppl not give a f*** about it

Personally I interpret it that way because that’s essentially why Ellie does everything she does throughout the game.
the fact that revenge is Ellie's motive is part of the larger story that is clearly about the futility in perpetuating human suffering
