It might tbh
The thought of a remake for a game that’s less than 10 years old looking better than the sequel to said game that’s barely 2 years old is just such a weird concept to me
I know there’s a rumored Director’s Cut for Pt. II, but that could just end up being a bundle with Factions or something. Can’t see them doing an upheaval of that game as well.
Honestly I don’t even know what to expect from the remake given it doesn’t seem to have been in development THAT long.
Just doesn’t seem feasible for it be a ground up remake with completely redesigned levels and cutscenes. And to have something like that release in 3 months without even being formally announced yet?
That’s insane.

Honestly all I want for 2 is a native ps5 upgrade with the adaptive triggers. And also maybe a dlc if they can throw that in for a “directors cut”
Hope that exists…

Yeah, because visually I don’t really know what they could really do, they already dropped a 60 fps patch. Bump it up to 4K certainly but, beyond that, I don’t really know.
Not sure if they’ll do SP DLC either since Factions is OTW.

Can the ps5 even handle tlou2 4k 60fps
Wonder if TLoU Remake will end up having better graphics than Pt. II?
Would be kind of weird tbh.
It probably would, no?
even better tech and it’s a smaller game, it actually might end up looking a lot better which is wild

I don’t know if they’d really push it that hard or just try and keep it in line with Pt. II, so there wouldn’t be a weird disconnect if you were to play them back to back.

thats a fair point. either way it’s gonna be gorgeous, pretty wild we might be seeing it in just three months

Yeah I'm not buying it at all. Where did the whole remake rumor even come from, first of all? Idk I just heard one day they were making a remake but ND themselves havent said a word about it. Everything you said makes sense I doubt a full remade LOU using the LOU2 engine and mechanics has been made without them making some sort of announcement. Hell at least a title card trailer.
This f***er

About as legit you can get short of an official announcement from ND, their reveal has to be coming soon

At the end of the day, it’s business and marketing. Mans gotta do whatever he can to get the people hyped lmao.

Sony Corp.’s Visual Arts Service Group has long been the unsung hero of many hit PlayStation video games. The San Diego-based operation helps finish off games designed at other Sony-owned studios with animation, art or other content and development. But about three years ago, a handful of influential figures within the Visual Arts Service Group decided they wanted to have more creative control and lead game direction rather than being supporting actors on popular titles such as Spider-Man and Uncharted.
Michael Mumbauer, who took over direction of the Visual Arts Service Group in 2007, recruited a group of about 30 developers, internally and from neighboring game studios, to form a new development unit within Sony. The idea was to expand upon some of the company’s most successful franchises and the team began working on a remake of the 2013 hit The Last of Us for the PlayStation 5. But Sony never fully acknowledged the team’s existence or gave them the funding and support needed to succeed in the highly competitive video game market, according to people involved. The studio never even got its own name. Instead, Sony moved ownership of the The Last of Us remake to its original creator, Naughty Dog, a Sony-owned studio behind many of the company’s best-selling games and an HBO television series in development

Did they just give up on multiplayer? I can't even imagine it taking off after such a long wait.

Nope. Still in development as it’s own standalone project

When you see how large and ambitious Factions 2 is, you'll realize the wait was worth it

I honestly don’t think we’re gonna get it till at least Summer 2023
