they want people to play more and it works. They on this page talking about they havent liked a game in 3 years

I can see what they mean though, ND levels of polish are so high it can make a lot of games look weaker when comparing them. There are definitely tons of fun games i’ve loved that have come out since but personally idk if i’ve played anything in the last couple years that gripped me like 2 did.

it does have its issues though don’t get me wrong I don’t think it’s a be all end all for games

like the gameplay outside of combat can be pretty boring/tedious on repeat playthroughs or if you’re not that invested in the story, but that’s kinda a ND problem in general not just tlou2

Playing Part 2 on release it seemed obvious that this level of polish wouldn't be sustainable in the future.

Rdr2 and tlou2 all had severe crunch

i tried to with new game plus it and i had to stop at ellie's seattle day 2

Why

i felt miserable during the first playthrough and then i realized that receiving all the weapons + the ability to upgrade them further made me feel slightly worse

There’s a whole community of people who play this game constantly. You can go on Twitter or Reddit and see people posting game clips and screenshots daily

People keep returning to the game because of the combat, immersion, and the different ways you can approach each battle

It’s genuinely cool to see years later

Latest news is bungie stepped in and prevented the game from being revealed as they have to re-work it due to its GAAS not being up to bungie standards

Yeah, people talk about Naughty Dog as immersive movies, but the gameplay in TLoU 2 is great and open to many experimentations. The gameplay and level design. Uncharted 4 was already an improvement on that level. I'm not surprised that people are still playing; I have definitely discovered a lot, replaying it!
