Like Tess killing Robert is cool, but what they did in the show is also cool.
I think they went this direction so Joel and Tess and appear to be likeable to the average viewer. I do wish they would've shown Joel and Tess as not particularly GOOD people but either way, I think the pilot got the job done
Loved the way they gave more backstory than the game, but lowkey just being dropped. right away into the whole outbreak as Sara was harder.
Damn this hoe good.
I wish I had a time machine to experience this game for the first time. I played it when I was 13.
I'd play this and then watch Avatar the last Airbender. Times were good.
I don't mind those changes either. My point is, you always go out of your way to make fun of people who don't like those changes.
Making fun of people while acting holy >>>>
I replayed the beginning portion just to compare again but the show def heightened everything for the better . They did a great job using the medium to expand it

I am the same way on some stuff like they get some levity because its 2003 versus 2013 on the Sarah being told to go home but no one saying what was going on in the clock shop.
Even if it felt a little weird for the arabic lady to be like "go home" but no kindness of "hey did you see the news check in with your family" or something.
Overall show will be less violent though and I am glad lol. I think and have openly called the game too violent in game 1 and game 2. Ironically when I said that people would defend it now they are forced to defend less violence
@ShintaroKago listening to the podcast now. They said originally episode 1 the original cut ended with the kid in Boston getting thrown in the fire by Joel hbo said it was too depressing

The kid is a lil redundant for me so I am glad they didn't do that. If anything I feel they definitely should have done some filling in the gap of the 20 years even if it was a super speed summary. Time will tell though
That's a pretty nice neighborhood from what I recall
Boston scenes, not the texas suburb ones

I get what you mean. There is different value in each I think. The chaos of not knowing what was going on in the game and having to figure it out versus they are telling not showing but openly telling a lot of the things here in a quick way

Lmao why tf did I write "as sorry" instead of as Sara???

Telling the guy who made Chernobyl that the original cut was too depressing is funny
Makes me wanna replay the game
it lowkey made me want to say f*** it and get the remake even though i’ve played it so many times lol
interested to see how the outbreak works in this if there are no spores/gas masks
like did the neighbor eat something that had the fungus in it or...

assumed that she caught it while in the hospital. While Ellie was picking a movie the lady was wigging out some and the dog began to notice

yeah I caught all that, but generally I hope they address how someone would become infected if theyre not bitten

I’m sure they will bring it up in future episodes
Also. In tlou 1, spores didn’t exist until many years later. The outbreak happened via bites and naturally. Spores in the game were the effect of infected in an enclosed period over a VERY long period of time.
I think I read somewhere something about the food supply getting infected
