Still kind of zombies to me in the sense that once you are infected based upon all we know currently it is impossible to turn back . Which is what zombies has always been to us. In lore and history the idea of immunity or vaccine has always existed . Cure is something that hasn’t as much
They 100% fit the zombie archetype even if they aren’t specifically undead that eat brains. Just like the infected in 28 Days Later. People that get pissy over the phrase are just nerds.
