i think it's worth discussion whether i'm into or not, because this all leads me to what disappoints me in modern TV and film in general...

no one has the balls to put money behind anything NEW in the TV and film space. it has to has a built in audience that will garner SOME sort of return, and that's mad disheartening. giving fans what they want is one thing. playing it safe is probably the same.

HBO giving a video game adaptation so much money instead of taking the same risks that they've repeatedly done and SUCCEEDED with in the past really breaks my balls.

I’ll say this, as someone who adores both games.

This isn’t really spoiler at all, but tagging in case people want to legit have zero idea of the future of the story

If you’re hoping at some point the infected become a bigger and bigger part of the core story you’re going to be let down.

mm ye this episode was underwhelming and a drag.

even if you are a show only watcher it was really dull, boring, and unneeded.

as a narrative you go from Ellie running away from some killers, then the next episode shes in a cabin ..? and taking care of joel. How did she carry joel off the horse, show me what happened after. felt really lazy.

the episode is spent on ellie and riley spending time and it was well down in that regard, but i cant imagine being a show only watcher and caring at all. it was really predictable we all knew what was gonna happen, we all knew she was going to die. Just show us trying to save joel and the next part of the show.

if anything they should have shown what it was like for ellie to watch her best friend turn while she doesn't. the whole reason this story was supposed to be SAD is becase ellie thought she was gonna turn but she didnt while her friend turned. she truly thought she was gonna die. thats the emotional part of the story, not that shes gay and they are in love and she dies. it's really boring as a side story, and the one part that would make it interesting you do not even touch on it lol.
