Ngl i skipped through the episode because you could tell it was going to all take place in the mall. They are looking to stretch out a decent amount of this and probably make even three seasons imo

why skip through an episode rather than just not watch though? To be there for the discussion or just thought its entirely filler. Not saying it is or isn't just curious. Live action episodes of serious dramas I never really skip through.. Lost got some filler though so I get you some what

It was just a predictable episode for me. I skipped mainly through the final third of the episode. Episodes like these seem to me like budget or just character development focused. Which is fine but there was nothing really interesting in my opinion for this episode.

Might be because i've played the game and i kinda have a grasp on the character tho

oh I didn't finish the DLC but knew general gist. I think episodes in the past when we see the current character is like seeing their origin story. In this sense though even show only watchers knew Ellie had potentially killed someone. With very little mention of her parents in the show so far they also knew she had experienced lost and she also says everyone who I have loved has passed . So I get show only watchers possibly feeling it was redundant or predictable after seeing Bill and Frank as well or continuous dread of show . Like game there is the game play hook between the sadness here is more watching it and talking about it with others. So it just hits different or can feel oddly placed

Actually thought this was one of the better episodes, mostly because the abandoned mall setting is really cool. Still find Ellie atrocious but whatever. It's gonna be weird rooting for Abby in season 2

Abandoned Mall setting was dope but didn't carry episode for me. Nearly wish Joel and Ellie had an experience of walking in somewhere abandoned and reminiscing about humanity in some way or that state of play yes they had arcade and yes they have Giraffes hopefully but need like one more point of beauty or reflecting on humanity past. Yes spaceship car buckle up cool and joke book but seeing them be goofy. Yes I know this is same as game but if going to cut out the gameplay sequences ( much for a good reason ) but just like something where we see Pedro be happy with Ellie cause in remaining time it nearly feels like there isn't time enough for joy or it will feel rushed

I haven't watched anything but You and Velma this year so but yeah so far show of year. Will it be by end of year? I hope not for me just cause I hope I connect with something more by the end of the year . Dope adaptation though

For me the show is a mix of bangers (episode 1, Bill & Frank, Sam & Henry) and absolute snorefests. Main 2 characters are pretty boring and if Ellie and Joel are boring the story falls apart. The show is at its best when its doing new s***.

that is why I like talking to show only watchers ( those that are level headed ). For me I think the show is different than game but definitely gives it a bonus for being a game I played versus another show
