she got to shoot her either way. I think for me Marlene's reason for wanting a cure is just so hazy . Like if there was more faith at least of she isn't doing this for her own gain or to be the most powerful but for the betterment of humanity or because she lost someone other than Ellie's mom to a bite. But we literally only see her as a terrorist her entire life that has ellie in chains. She is shown as Ellie closest thing to a mom ( they agreed with this in podcast too ). But the idea that someone that knows Ellie all her life has her in chains, Eventually makes her a chicken sandwich but just gives her to a random man hopes for the best then is in disbelief she is alive and makes it to them. I don't know its just missing something there .

Joel is shown as "selfish" in a way but me personally especially in the show I don't think Ellie willing to die for cure when she continuously mentioning what they will do after. Do I think she finds Sam and Henry death, Tess Death sad? yes but she only knew them for a day or two. Even her connection to her own mom and her mom being bitten could fuel her who knows. We know Riley death fueled her but Riley could have died to Fedra too and Ellie was nearly in Fedra no f***s given.

If they really announce 3 I hope they loop back to many of the central things they raise up in 1 that made it so soulful

I don’t know, she seems about the same as she was in the game? Maybe a bit more harsh in her demeanor (understandably, she has a crew to run) but she still does all the same stuff more or less.
