Wtf is this take... they obviously building up their romance to create a "are they gonna date or not" dynamic instead of them already dating and having no tension
I mean my take is totally rooted as someone who’s played the game and thought that the relationship story beats just hit stronger in the game at this point in the story having just arrived to Seattle.
Yeah I get the idea that she’s closeted and could be wrestling with her own sexuality. But I think there is a way where Dina is navigating and learning that, where they’re also just more of an established romance than they are right now.
Like, the decision to send them on patrol with a group instead of alone— in retrospect, all this did was hinder opportunity for those two to hit it off. The group they were with basically served zero purpose. Was it worth removing key romance beats between them just to have them rebel against the rest of the patrol people they were with? I’d argue no.
I trust they will establish the romance and it’ll be fine, I just think the decision to extent both the timeline AND remove some relationship beats between the 2 of them is quite odd and not totally working for me
I don't mind the slow burn personally. Feels deliberate, adds tension, plus for non gamers, it would feel rushed if they were already full steam ahead, regardless of the patrol sequence tweak suggestion. They'll flesh it out as the show goes on, depending on the direction they've chosen for the adaptation. We'll see
So episode 4 will be Ellie Day 1\. We’ll likely see Ellie and Dina get attacked by the WLF, which will lead to the subway sequence, and the episode will probably end with Dina’s pregnancy reveal
And episode 5 will likely be Day 2, and we will see Ellie fight the Seraphites for the first time. I honestly think it would be dope if they combined the Hillcrest and Seraphite sections from the game. So basically episode 5 would only focus on Seraphites instead of Wolves, and it would be like one long and intense sequence where Ellie is hiding and trying to survive a woods full of Seraphites. That s\*\*\* would be tense
Any lastest viewership news?

Who knows. Lots of factors with episode 2 due to it being on Easter and playoffs going on
I'm just here for the plot
The Plot:

Who dis

Oh s***

that scene at the grave was terrible fam. Not even hating on Bella’s appearance but she’s not hitting the emotional notes I thought she should be considering the praise she is getting. Dina is carrying hard rn
More Tommy, Jesse and Dina will be great. Looking forward to the WLF intros as well. Seraphite drip is 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

What was wrong with her performance at the grave?
Also I thought Bella did great in the scene with Joel’s jacket

The grave scene felt like it was a callback to that season 1 episode with the deaf/mute kid, specifically the ending. And I don't see what's exactly wrong with Bella's performance. I've never seen an actress get this microanalyzed before lol
