Game Ellie literally just sits at Joel’s grave for like 10 seconds and leaves. There’s no dialogue or anything.
Anyone who had a problem with the grave scene in the show is just nitpicking for no reason

People are really just looking for any reasons to complain about Bella and hoping something works

The sentiment behind the grave scene is good (the coffee beans) but idk felt a bit flat

It didn’t land for me and that’s okay. Everyone’s view of that scene will be different but I’m not gonna praise Bella just for the sake of it. She had good moments otherwise. Her facial expressions in that scene were ehhhh.

Also if this is how we’re gonna be, what can we actually comment on? It’s getting ridiculous on both sides. I get she’s been trolled but we’re not doing that here

Dina yelling out Joel is a more plausible way for Abby to figure out Joel’s name. And her being there gives Dina way more of a reason to go with Ellie for Joel than in the game where she just goes to keep Ellie company

Tommy was always gonna go cause Joel is family and you bet your ass Tommy probably following behind. I don’t mind the change

They removed an integral part imo. They’re good writers, they could have figured out a way around the whole revealing who they are without this round about way.

They wanted to give dina a reasonable motive to go to seattle, tommy is his fkin brother he already has one

Ok so it sounds like they are going to reverse the roles. Tommy is going to go after Ellie, instead of Ellie going after him

Seems like the writers want Tommy to be more caring and thoughtful in the show adaptation. I’m really curious to see how they’ll handle the scene of Tommy showing up at Ellie and Dina’s place and trying to convince her to go after Abby again. I can’t imagine this Tommy doing something like that, but maybe after him and Jesse are shot it will change him as a person. Also it would be even more heartbreaking to see this Tommy take that dark turn because of how caring he is right now

Yess exactly. How he is now COULD be setting up that moment really well.

We will see him get rotted from the inside out by that anger vengeance feeling. and we will see him go from someone who was willing to let Abby go, to someone who visits Ellie and Dina years later and shames Ellie into going to get Abby

Lots of this season really feels like the creatives tweaking elements in small ways earlier on, so that when certain moments happen later on, they hit in more nuanced ways

Casting did a terrible job and there's nothing she can do to redeem this fact
