That’s how it was in 2 anyways
nah ellie had real hate in her heart in game, we rode with her
they just make the character look foolish with this writing for her that there's no way to like her

We?
We?
those of us that aren't homophobic my apologies kronic
Enjoyed most of the season but I really don't like how in over her head they made Ellie look, especially compared to the game. Although, I don't blame Bella and think they're just doing what they can with the material.
I think the main issue is the 7 episode season. Had this season been 10 episodes with some more character development for Jesse, Dina, maybe Tommy, and more time to see Ellie go from a moody teen to a ruthless killer singularly focused on revenge, I think the finale would've hit harder.
Still hopeful for s3 though. Abby's part of the game was way better than Ellie's.

So exactly like in the game
This show is… just “good” after 2 seasons. But not amazing.
To be clear, TLOU is an all timer video game / story for me. PII is legitimately a top 5 video game all time for me.
The problem with this show, is it’s like they said, “instead of creating and writing story of the travel of this journey and adapting that feeling of a journey in a game to a journey in a show, let’s just skip all of that and show them a highlight reel of all the massive story beats”… because to me, as a lover of the game, that’s what this show feels like to me. It feels like a “TLOU super cut”.
In that finale episode, for example… Ellie leaving Jesse go find a boat and then travelling to the aquarium. That should’ve been an entire episode. Instead, Ellie of the show sort of just fast travels there… and then fast travels back to the theatre. All this fast travelling is totally failing to capture the gruesome, bleak, slog of a trip this is.
Also, what was up with them putting Ellie on the Seraphite Island for 3 minutes???? That was legitimately bad writing.

Yeah so I actually agree that the Ellie writing in this adaptation is super weak. Any Ellie fumbling of this adaptation has nothing to do with Bella. Bella has been good. But the writing is just… man idk, the writing is just not what I was hoping it would be.
The point a to b traversal if you've seen GOT s7, where characters ended up just appearing etc
We don’t need walking dead type filler traversal lol

Of course, it don't gotta be crazy, but it was a bit disorienting at times.

"Also, what was up with them putting Ellie on the Seraphite Island for 3 minutes????"
Isn't that how it goes down in the game? I thought I was missing some game context because I was just like...okay, so that happened I guess lol

It’s a scrapped idea they had from the game that was in concept art and in the documentary making of. They scrapped it due to not enough dev resources to crunch it out.
They included it for s***s and giggles here

Ohh so it's an Easter egg for the hardcore fans

Well they added it for some stuff that happens in season 3 no spoilers just to get more “oh s***” from the viewer id imagine. It doesn’t add much now but I’m sure it will add a little for season 3. Just a tiny bit of setup that took 3 min
Season 3 2026 right guys?!! 10 episodes too?!?! And tells the full story!!?! Right guys?!?

...10 episodes of ellie going to point A to point B over and over again would have been torture

"Ellie's boat trip to the aquarium should have been a whole episode" bruh whattt😭😭😭
the entirety of day 3 isn't even an hour long lmao, and how you even do an entire episode of that... this is what baffles me, this season had a LOT of flaws but y'all bring up the most ridiculous things that are not even flaws in the first place
...10 episodes of ellie going to point A to point B over and over again would have been torture
I wouldn't have those extra episodes focused on Ellie as much. I'd throw in some flashbacks with other characters.
