This game is the definitive way to lose £70

Very true, wonder how quickly it will decrease
@ShintaroKago you haven't played it still
Jak and Daxter trilogy remake when
What makes me mad about sony is they released good remasters of all these classic games (sly, ratchet, god of war, Jak, and more) all for the PS3.
All of these not available on ps4, and the ones you can play (jak) are literal ps2 ports missing all the enhancements of those ps3 remasters

My guess is black friday will go to $30-$40 on sale
Reduce permanent spring time to $40
Then will see sales often next year for the $20-$30 range
Ps+ Title late next year
Both I never played either
Wait til Part 1 goes on sale or to plus and catch up on your backlog til then. Lower your hype some in general. Its a great game but some put too much gas on it as you can see and just makes it better if you go in chill
Both I never played either
Id say wait for a sale on this. Black friday for sure. Pick up this and 2 and just play them back 2 back. Dont read into any think pieces or online reviews. Go in with a fresh mind

THIS IS A LAST OF US PART 1 THREAD AND IN EVERY SINGLE POST I MENTION I HAVENT PLAYED 2
goodness
The only thing I clarified on 2 is do I think we need to see Joel and Ellie characters again I said no personally thats partially because when I thought I would never play 2 I saw the ending so I know the ending.
I have at no time said 2 was a bad game. I said I may personally be more interested by anthology style but am enjoying my playthrough
Kroniic agrees Joel and Ellie story is kind of done and he loves 2 so f*** you want me to do

So what’s the difference between last of us 1 and last of us part 1. I’m assuming one is just a remake with better graphics?

S*** we need a The First Of Us

Yeah this is just a remake with better graphics and animations
You can check the differences in this VERY good video by digital foundry (just scroll through and you will see)
You decide if thats worth it to you
If not, you could always play the remaster for free on the ps+ collection
So what’s the difference between last of us 1 and last of us part 1. I’m assuming one is just a remake with better graphics?
Graphics, AI, animations updates. Just wait to play Part I its identical in structure, levels etc just adds graphics, framerate, AI updates that will overall help your experience
The people above want it to continue Ellie Joel story
Oh lmao just read that s*** wtf
To each their own like I get what you are saying entirely but what are you asking ? That Ellie is protecting a son she has in the final game? The series could have ended after the ending of the last of us 1 there is no way you are saying it can't end after the ending of the last of us 2 or that there can't be another central playable character other than Ellie after they have 100% hammered the theme down
I’m saying if there is a third game, then it has to finish Ellie’s story.
The Last of Us is not about the universe it created, it’s not about a “theme” in the vein of something like Black Mirror where each iteration is thematically similar but following different characters; it’s about Ellie.
We’ve received three TLOU installations so far and they’ve all been about Ellie: the first game, Left Behind, and the DLC. Even the official comic series they put out, American Dreams, was about Ellie.
This is her story. In the same way that The Walking Dead is Rick Grimes’s story. Yes there are various spin offs and other installments of that franchise that deal with other groups of characters, but the mainline show/comic was Rick’s story from beginning to end.
The Last of Us is Ellie’s story, so if they choose to do a third game, it’s absolutely has to to feature her in a prominent role and finish off her story.
There can definitely be spin offs in The Last of Us world that deal with other groups and characters, but a “The Last of Us Part 3” will definitely be centered around Ellie.
And I’m not saying a third game can’t feature new characters or several playable characters just like the second game did, but Ellie will absolutely be a prominent/driving force of the narrative because this entire series up until this point has been her story
I don’t want any more ellie / Joel
Their story is over!
Joel’s story is over, Ellie’s isn’t
The Last of Us as a whole is about Ellie, not Ellie & Joel
Man. Playing through this now and Part 1's gameplay is so basic, idk how people considered this one of the best "games" oat

Been saying 2 way better.
Replaying this now just certifying my claims. 2 better all around. Hell even story imo

Because in story-driven games the gameplay is less important imo
Played 2 for the first time in like january but thinking of doing a second play through already until cod comes out

I guess what I am asking in an odd way is do we have to kill a character to complete their story? I mean again I am playing through it so I can't truly say yet but I am going based on the ending I saw and the summary of story that this kind of does complete her story. What I am more asking is do you feel there is a reason to exist in the universe or environment without Ellie being playable? Like yes she is possibly the cure but she has closure in a way. I guess I see your side though because she has closure in a way but its a sad ending so in the end will she ever have a happy ending or is as dark as last of us 1 ending is the happiest ending she could have had?

There can definitely be Last of Us spin-offs and other stories told in this universe without Ellie being present. It’s IP, there can always be spin-offs without the main character.
I’m solely talking about a third installment of the mainline series. It wouldn’t make any narrative sense to do a trilogy but have the main character not be present whatsoever in the final installment. Even the first three Assassin’s Creed games are tied together through the character of Desmond.
How they end her story is anyone’s guess, but if there’s a third Last Of Us game she’ll definitely have a prominent role
