Plenty of guitarists that can play with 2-3 fingers as well she just ain’t learned the new way yet
Oh my god and that’s the same f***ing farmhouse Dina wanted at the beginning close to Jackson ellie really does live happily ever after man
Am I the only one who didn't feel bad when Joel died? Abby's anger is totally justifiable and from her perspective killing Joel is the right move.
i think the two "problems" with Joel's death are:
It happens early in the story for seemingly no reason; Abby is just some no one at this stage. Therefore many players have decided at this point it is some bullshit, and play the rest of the game with the negative mindset (I'd probably align with this to some extent)
Joel saves Abby, and is dead at her hands 10 minutes later; it happens so quickly that you are like wtf, is this even realistic? There's no pause or consideration on Abby's part - so I think this is why a lot of people call it rushed or lazy

It was refreshing not getting a Hollywood cliche villain speech. The first shot completely caught the player off guard just as it did Joel.

I was never attached to Joel from the jump. I always f***ed with Ellie, lol.

lol I loved Joel as a character but Ellie was always my favorite
Don’t shrek me that’s cannon now read that twitter lank I posted earlier it all makes sense. You think Ellie pulling up with no weapons to the farmhouse without going directly back to Jackson
They TRIED all it did was make me hate Abby more
I think you were more attached to the character (specifically Ellie) more than you were to the narrative or the world they were trying to make
your explanation has some fair points though, some seemed blinded by you wanting Ellie to be the good to Abby's "bad"
they definitely depict ellie as a callous b**** with every possible tool in their arsenal, my rationale, and this might be playing advocate, is that they have to with how lovable this character was in the first game
the only way to reach a grey area where you can even consider her and abby in the same boat, is by taking her from one extreme to the other

IDK how you could do it to where the death has the max weight, I'm thinking have it happen in the middle of the game, but then IDK how that works with the flashbacks. You'd have to push some back and some forward
But I'd still have the game close with the PTSD and the saving Abby. They just need to structure it to where Abby is more developed before that and Joel is more than just who he was in the first game. Bc that's basically all we have of him (and some sappish s*** that makes him even more endearing) before the golf club.

Ellie is on a revenge mission and her only goal is killing Abby by any means necessary. Her callousness is justifiable. She is blinded by hatred and all morales are out the window.
