onetwohonestly I don't feel anything for this story, it was complex and layered but the ending was unsatisfying and none of the characters in this game are likeable imo including Ellie and Abby
Also, they tried too hard to paint Ellie as a monster but imo she wasn't really a monster, all her kills were survival based.. if Abby was the first person she ran into at the base I truly believe she would have killed Abby and went back to Jackson
Also Joel was really good to Ellie and they really s***ted on him all throughout this game lol. He wasn't really in the right for what he did at the hospital but it just showed how much he loved Ellie like a real daughter
But I don't 100% dislike it either, the twists were interesting and it definitely was a unique playthrough playing both sides without bias
I don’t get why Joel just let Ellie resent him for so long
He didn’t even try to explain himself — the fact that they had been trying for years and couldn’t develop a cure, that not only was he not asked, they took away his guns and locked him up, etc etc
And like some parts although good were corny and contrived — really?? They make up and reconcile literally the night before Joel is killed? So much of the story beats did not feel organic at all

If people dont like it, they just dont man.
This game is gonna be divisive among fans and it's really designed to feel that way so people just need to get over that some people will love it and some people will really hate it

... they didn't reconcile. That's the point. They didn't get to it.

Well the first ending was also perfect and I thought it didn't need a sequel, but they proved me wrong with this masterpiece. So I'd trust them to make another one if they feel like they should.

SkydwellerJust finished the main story. While I don’t think this game is a masterpiece I can definitely say it’s enjoyable from a gameplay and story standpoint. I don’t hate the ending but I understand why it went down that way. Just feel like there were many instances where Ellie could’ve/should’ve killed Abby and she didn’t. So I understand why some people hate it. Abby’s missions kind of dragged but the final missions with Lev and his sister were my favorite character moments in the whole game.
Hurt seeing Ellie lose everything towards the end.

Not sure about a part 3 for Ellie and Abby but I almost need them to release a 3rd game and just have it be a prequel following Tommy and Joel after his daughter dies

Ellie witnessed something horrendous and she has severe PTSD because of it, of course she is having flashbacks that effect her.
And having Ellie and Abby lose everything is the whole point, hate drove them both over the edge and they lost so much because of it.
So you were unsatisfied with the end because Ellie lost everything???

I would like to think the theme for part 3 would be redemption.
Maybe we'll see Ellie link up with Tommy to find Dina. And Abby is just doing her best to move on from losing so much and trying to make her life meaningful again .
Or maybe Abby and Ellie could cross paths again but they are forced to team up , but throughout the game there is a huge struggle between them. They cant get along, and cant see eye to eye on how to do s***.

Lowkey hope they don’t make a part 3 since the first 2 set the bar so high. But at this point, I totally trust Naughty Dog with their decision regarding the series. If they have a story still worth telling in this world, I am 100% on board

Yea, a part 3 isnt necessary at all.
But once again Naughty Dog has left the narratives wide open that leaves room for more story. I'm sure they purposely did that to have the option of doing another sequel if they decide to do one.But man I cant lie and say that I'm not really interested in what happens next in Ellie and Abby's story. Does Ellie find Dina? How is Abby able to defend herself in this world now that she's lost her muscle and her will to fight?
