I may be hypocritical because I’m religious and people say I believe in fantasies but the NOI is a harmful cult even when we not talking about religion
I don't mean to be hostile or condescending towards you as a Muslim btw. I respect Muslims a lot and see if as a positive thing. It's something I can respect a lot and something I feel I can turn to if I ever in a dark place. The sense of community within Islam is elite. Muslims do not care if somebody is Muslim or not, they want to help everyone. I can't not respect Muslims from all my experiences with them.
I still think the NOI is a positive to the black community just for the fact they support black rights over everything.

1) Don't call me a NOI member.
2) As with most religious leaders, he has thoughts on gay and trans people. If you actually look into him more, you will learn he does not discriminate against gay or trans people. He supports all black people regardless. He would not turn away a gay black person.
In the context of religion, you need to start understanding what is and is not acceptable. Many religious people hold those beliefs. You can't use that against them. It becomes an issue when they are letting those beliefs lead to discrimination. A religious person can disagree with the lifestyle and still care and support them. They care so much because they are worried about them.
I hang around with many religious people. I don't mention gay people for this reason. I know they do not discriminate, but I also know they have certain feelings about gay and trans people that I disagree with.
