does it at least offer some sense of direction for the overarching story? even a little? I know the post cred teases the young avengers but is there any other sort of story-line that points to being continued down the line?
edit how tf do you do spoilers on here again
Nah man
It’s meh. But every marvel movie nowadays (except last guardians) is meh. It’s the same thing everyone has already said, that is that they don’t have any driving story anymore. But I still watch the movies even though I know I won’t like it since I’ve watched everything marvel since iron man
This isn't healthy. Just read the plot summary of the movies if you need the story that bad. Imagining being miserable in the theater on purpose

Lmfao. Chill my nigga. It’s not that bad. It’s just that the hey imo had a much higher level before. It’s like going from f***ing 10s all the time to 6s. You’re still bustin nuts, but it’s just not the same. You feel me?
Shang chi was great lol
It’s a shame we aren’t getting a sequel anytime soon. Still easily the best action in an MCU film since phase 3
they obviously can't show their hand by doing it literally on release week
but when marvel drops the F4 casting soon to change public opinion and make everyone forget the 'mcu is over and marvels proves it' narrative

Oh 100%

Cast announcements aint cutting it tbh. People have realized that having great actors does not equal quality. Marvel has wasted awesome actors with lame ass scripts. I think they will be putting all their chips on deadpool.
This was fine. Was expecting this to be Love and Thunder levels of terrible, but it's not thankfully. Kamala and her family are definitely some of the highlights of the movie, as well as the interactions between the lead trio respectively. Definitely still a very flawed movie (dialogue can be pretty damn bad at times and the main villain is not only the absolute worst in the MCU, but is also horrendously acted by Zawe Ashton. Like, hot damn is she just f***ing dogshit at acting in this), but enjoyable for what it is I feel
as in it confirms it essentially?
Post-credits scene teases some form of the X-Men
The Marvels is a fast paced, at times incoherent mess of a film. The villian is awful, the writing is barebones and tonally can be all over the place. I didn’t hate it though. I’d say actually I had a fun time with it. In no way is it a great movie, but it really does settle right in the middle of the awfulness that is Quantumania, and the great film that GOTG3 is. The first act is great, and the pacing is actually one of the movies strengths because it doesn’t feel like they’re adding random bullshit for the sake of padding, and the action through the whole movie is top tier and really could be some of the best in the MCU. Iman steals the show easily, her character feels consistent with her show and her charm shines through it all. Theres good chemistry between all three of them, and I feel like they did way more with Carol as a character then the first film. There’s a lot of great stuff visually early on, but as it gets to the third act it begins to devolve into the usual messiness. Same goes for the editing, it becomes so messy it begins to feel like a low budget film. This is really the definition of a mixed bag, there was stuff I enjoyed, stuff I did not like, but I enjoyed it overall. I liked it more then The Flash and Antman and Shazam.
