Its just not working building these franchises when you have to watch 3 other movies or shows to unserstand them. Nobody will keep up

Also brie Larson while a great actress just not good as captain marvel

The strike definitely hurt the box office numbers

But I agree that Brie Larson is totally miscast as Captain Marvel.. she doesn't have the screen presence required for a superhero. And the "most powerful superhero in MCU" no less...

It’s so stupid saying you need to watch all those shows to “understand” it

I don’t remember anything about Monica in Wandavision…and my experience wasn’t ruined

And with ms.marvel…you didn’t need to watch the show either…they touch on her origin, bangles etc throughout the movie

You don’t need to know about her friends, villains etc cause this movie has nothing to do with them lmao

And they didn’t touch on anything from secret invasion

Just watched and I was thinking the same thing

The whole Annihilator subplot felt like the real Captain Marvel 2

I had a fun time. Definitely not a movie that signifies that the MCU is about to die, if anything this movie hints at the MCU getting a new breath of air after seeing that mid credits scene

But I do wish they would’ve incorporated Kang in to the film in some way, or at least one of his variants

And although there were definitely some iffy CGI shots, overall I thought the movie looked pretty good

I feel like the CGI was noticeably better looking than most of the recent MCU films, excluding GOTG3 obviously. You can tell they spent a lot more time smoothing out the effects for this movie

i was noticing as well the cgi was pretty great for the most part i guess that delay worked out

first movie looked good too

Going to take my mom to see this in a week or two because why not

This was great, minus some critiques:

• intro moon scenes looked like a parody of space films because of how badly edited it was
• minimal fight scenes considering it’s a superhero film is kinda wild
• poor pacing throughout

That being said, if this went straight to Disney+ I don’t think it would have been as critiqued as it was. Disney have done an awful job at promoting this and it’s a real shame

7/10 for me imo

This is basically the MCU’s Blue Beetle in the nicest way possible. And both are good films

biggest and only real question at the end of this is how the hell monica not only getting home but tying into all this
