Reviews are opinions. The best critics love who they are and have the strongest opinions. Everyone is biased. Pretending gives nothing. I want a singular opinion from an individual experience that reveals something about the music, an insight, not a scared BSer s***ting out vagueries to please ghosts.
So far this year has proven to me more than ever how pointless/useless music, film, TV reviews and reviewers are. Why should I care about the opinions of someone else on a piece of media I like or dislike? Shouldn't my own personal opinion of it be the only thing that matters to me?

It's only when your personal opinion matters that critics become interesting.

Only opinion that matters is ur own
whatever u say, bruh. All I know is, when Kendrick drops his next album, if the metacrutic score for users AND critics isn't at least a 9.0, were gonna have a problem, dude
Reviews r only useful if you searching for new content tbh or if the reviewer gives more insight into the content
Only thing checking reviews has done for me is give me some interesting insight and introduce me to some artist I now like

Thats only 10% of the time
'I don't like Drake because of his house' has more value than 'the sonic palette is less variegated than his previous work.' One is honest, one reveals something, the other is stupid.

metacritic
the whiter the worse imo
What’s your take on non niggas (Indians, Arabs, Asian, etc) s***ting on white people when it comes to rap opinions when a lot of them fall in that same bracket
metacritic
Why a laughing emoji? If you're implying anything that isn't Metacritic being the most important factor in my opinion on music, and the worlds, You're an idiot!
imo reviewers should only be used to help you find new music or determine whether an album is worth your time listening to so I'd rather have a critic that aligns with my opinions than one who's better at hot takes... I'd rather just consume art than entertain myself with someone who talks about it

just as bad but idk what it is but they aren’t as cocky some indians are ngl but still.
someone like vietbrah isn’t black but most his threads celebrate hip hop and he really knows the genre and doesn’t really put anyone down . so i respect his opinion and look at it as equal to black people if he was white it would be the same probably well idk really i’m really racist .

Critical reviews are a product of their time. People didn't have immediate access for everything via Netflix or spotify like we do now so people would have to look to the chosen critics for recommendations. It's so individualistic in today's climate. If I want to watch or listen to it, I do just that, and make up my own mind. There's less of an adherence to critical thought.
On the other hand, I still appreciate some critics because their thoughts on movies/music is respectful or illuminating. Reading other perspectives is a key way of engaging with others.
