when you're a stan of someone their music is so ingrained into your personality that whenever someone dislikes the artist / music, it feels like they're disrespecting you. i say this as someone who used to participate in stan culture but then i grew up and stopped letting other people's opinions on the music i enjoy affect me because it's really a stupid way to live.
