There’s no rebuttal for this thread. People are just dedicated to drake hate. So as I posted right before this post it will just be spam
    âś…

I'd venture out to say people hate Kanye waaaaaaay more than Drake.

But nah for real he really needs to change his delivery. Use some effects, hit your highest falsetto, use some interesting melodies nigga at least try to do something interesting. Nigga so monotone and one dimensional with his “singing”

  • @op Nas actually came up with song concepts. Don’t throw him under the bus like that

Drake needs to stop using that sleepy time ass delivery over them tired ass beats. He has access to the whole industry but he chooses to put out derivative bs. Enjoy the music but don’t expect us all to lap it up

This dude can make 10 different types of songs and people who are invested in his downfall for whatever reason swear every song sound like Best I Ever Had 🤣

And when he does venture into different spaces it’s wave riding and culture vulturing. But for other artists it’s being experimental . Unparalleled levels of success and scrutiny levels for that Canadian.

Jay, Nas, all the goats pretty much just rapped on fire beats from the hottest producers and never got this level of scrutiny? Is it due to drake perceived versatility that they expect him to want to make a punk rock album (which he’d be called a wave rider for lol)?

I gotchu OP. And i say this as both a fan and a critique.

“And when he does venture into different spaces it’s wave riding and culture vulturing. But for other artists it’s being experimental.”

Ppl dont know what it means when you say something’s experimental. It’s not experimental to do a popular style of music that you know is the wave rn. Experimental means taking risks.

For example. IYRTITL imo could be looked at as an album where he took risks (somewhat). Joints like that Madonna and Star67 are some of my fav joints cause they’re so unlike what he typically goes at. NWTS same thing, I remember Started From The Bottom dropped and at 1st niggas was confused cause it was kinda different for a Drake single.

There’s a reason people look at both those albums as Drake’s artistic peak.

“Jay, Nas, all the goats pretty much just rapped on fire beats from the hottest producers and never got this level of scrutiny?”

You rewriting history to fit a narrative. It’s cool cause I’m sure writing this in the early morning you was prolly angry. Nas got picked apart trying to chase hits especially in the late 90s. You Owe Me? Jay Z got killed for ruining timbo beats on Magna Carta.

And while yes Jay Z is a chameleon when it comes to adopting flows (where Drake gets it from) him or none of these artists ever stepped out of they lane to make a goddamb dancehall track or put on a fake accent (and if they did they’d be laughed at, look at Nas “Who Killed It.”) or look at how Jay Z sounded on “Ha” remix.
