shift but I still think Playstation widely outnumbers this just makes it less of a bloodbath.

I think a slight shift is important for a competitive market. No matter what PC users will rise. I still think people will stay where their library, friends and games they want to play are.

I just need competitive enough where both companies grow

i feel like theyre gonna do something dumb like have it support epic games only. but if they do go back to console exclusives i could see them allowing steam on the helix but they'll pull their exclusives off of steam incentivising people to buy them physically or on the xbox store

This thing had Sony shaking in their boots realizing their mid exclusives were about to be on Xbox since it’ll have steam and epic store

They just dropped PC support together

Fortunately it’ll only apply to games made by studios Sony owns. Those are once in a blue moon. This console will be the best ever made by far if they nail the execution

Console with steam access and mods is the dream scenario

Not a console war twin. It’s a war on Sony and the monopolization of the high end console market

Somewhat a war on Nintendo as well since we were steadily approaching a point where two anti consumer greedy ass Japanese companies were solely dominating the console space and dumb ass Americans were either oblivious or didn’t care

People dont get its not console wars to say XBOX needs to exist. Same way consolidation or studios shutting down in movie space, tv space or any art medium isnt good its not that complicated

the same way many of us wanted warner brothers to stay independent or not crumble under zaslav.

2028 makes sense. The amount they subsidize a tough choice. Higher end model could see 1500 lower end 1200

But who knows. People got to start saving now if its open to other marketplaces, pc hybrid and fully backwards with free to play online its worth it

a few years ago, i would have said at that price you could just build a high end gaming PC.

now that's out of the realm of possibilities lmao.

its better people have their foot in the door then struggle to get in at all

its essentially doing a pro at the beginning so they never have to do a mid gen refresh which they didnt this gen when if anything they needed to this gen.

Nintendo is the best company right now for the gaming industry but you guys will never get over some cancelled fan games or some other s*** right now that doesn't really matter and im saying that as someone that does not care about most of Nintendos output

  • Nintendo is the only company that is keeping AA gaming alive.

Metroid Dread as an example. Its a small game with small profits. But for companies like Sony and Microsoft small profits are not enough anymore. If the game is not making 100+ millions immediately it's not worth investing in. If Metroid was a Sony franchise, they would've never invested in a sequel because its not worthwhile. They don't bother with keeping niches happy.

Same with games like Xenoblade, Fire Emblem and all these B and C-Tier Nintendo franchises like a WarioWare, StarFox and so on. These are all games with very small returns at best but Nintendo is the only company that isn't obsessed with getting AAA returns on games.

Animal Crossing would've turned into a live service game immediately by any other company. The potential for that is probably in the billions but they are keeping it a closed classic experience

Price is cooked but the ps3 at launch was $600 which is about $1k today (except the ps3 was also a Blu-ray player for crazy value)
