"In March, the rapper Jay Electronica used Khruangbin’s “A Hymn” as the backdrop for “A.P.I.D.T.A.,” the last track on his long-awaited debut album, “A Written Testimony,” which features many contributions from Jay-Z.

“We found out about a week before it dropped,” Lee said. “I have a friend whose dad owns a record shop in L.A., and I got a text from them saying that Jay-Z was in the shop buying all the Khruangbin records.”

Specifically, Jay-Z bought “Con Todo El Mundo” (“With All the World”), which blends bits of Spanish and Iranian funk into a psychedelic brew."

“The last time that I kissed you, you felt cold but you looked peaceful”

Electricities verse on APIDTA is still untouched this year..

this is trivial but intriguing - Jay probably got the idea to use the epic Minister clip in the album intro from this tweet

it's from Final Call, March 2018, so 2 years before release

the clip is the exact length as the sample on the album down to the second, and the whole speech nearly 3 hours on yt

and in August 2018 (so months after that tweet) he previewed the song on IG Live

Changed his twitter bio from “I got two things that’ll move you”

to “one of these things'll move you”

Wishful thinking, thought it was a reference to Act II and III

Well we know it's not AWT that's for sure

What do we think of "Flux Capacitor" now? Grow on anyone?

One of the more truly experimental beats in recent memory. Saw James Blake co-produced.

Song was fire from the beginning but I’m still not sold on whatever the f*** hov was doing on the hook, ending is one of my favourite moments on the album though

    Platinum

    Which song?

released Jan 2011, months after signing with the Roc

"Leave him at the mountain top blasting at the Rothschilds"

    released Oct 2011

"Brunch with the Rothschilds, dinner with the Carters"

Their relationship was first publicized June 2012 dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2156174/Kate-Rothschild-lashes-Twitter-critics-Ben-Goldsmith-split.html

Jay has hints of British in the Act II demo and he was in London mid-late 2010 (Semtex interview) so it's possible they were acquainted by that point

But that first line is aggressive and the second is "we're friends", so something considerable happened in that time
