Song/video out tomorrow.
No clue if this is leading up to a third album or if it's a one off. There's at least one insider saying the former, but idk if I'm going to devote much brain energy to that theory until there's more to suggest it.
no b-side on streaming
Honestly, like I said, there's one Redditor who has claimed insider knowledge on a few album releases that have come true, and they said that a third Smile album is going to release in October / November.
The fact they debuted a new song at the Wall of Eyes listening parties and got all coy about it, and the fact that The Slip is not included here makes me think we may have some legitimacy to his claims already.
Not getting my hopes up though, and, like I said earlier, Jonny's s***ty political takes this year have kinda not made me itching for music from the man pronto like I would be with a rumor like that.

I remember getting the impression during the first album's promo run that the 2nd album was closer to release than turned out being.

That's true, but there's more reason to assume a third album will come sooner after WoE than how WoE came after ALFAA.
They've debuted songs with completed string arrangements (Instant Psalm) and teased a studio cut (Tiptoe) back in January that didn't have a home on WoE. And they talked about how the other songs they'd been playing would come out soon (Colours Fly), claiming their producer Sam was the one who honed down the tracklist order to the 8 tracks on Wall of Eyes - which kinda implies there are a good number of other tracks that were finished.
January to November would be 11 months and if they already had more than half the album completed in the studio last year when making WoE, I don't think it's crazy to assume they could finish stuff up in time. They haven't been inessentially touring either, their only tour this year was a month at a time in March and in June IIRC.

I ain't heard The Slip yet but I very much liked this one, to the point it might be one of my very favourite tracks of theirs. TMB vibes from the first minute or so.

What am I missing?
Israel
Is that what the song's about? I can see the lyrics applying to the band's controversy surrounding that but the lyrics are pretty vague.

I'm inclined to believe so
Pretty massive assumption
Thom would want to be a vague coward about Israel/Palestine so he can continue posting guardian articles about climate change on his twitter all day to feel good about himself, and have anyone who takes his silence as complicity be gaslit into oblivion

We don't know if it'll be more than 10 tracks or not.
I saw someone say going off the pattern of the last few days that it could be 12 tracks and we get 3 revealed each day Fri-Mon and then an announcement on Tuesday. But 10 may be the cap
