Makes me wonder if this will be the 'last' The Smile album for now. Releasing this so soon after WOE gets me thinking that Radiohead is getting back together and they want to focus on that now.

I wouldn't mind a couple more The Smile albums though. Absolutely love what they've been putting out.

Normally, I'd agree with you, but Ed still has a record in the pipeline to release and potentially tour. A session musician posted a video of a snippet about 10 weeks ago showing they're still recording.

Although Ed said late last year that he planned to finish the record in the first half of 2024.

Interesting what will be next then. We definitely cannot complain with the quality music that we're getting from The Smile.

Great news, but also this is probably prep for them to reunite towards the end of next year.

Next year -> Smile LP3/tour and Ed O'Brien LP2/tour

After that....Radiohead seems like it could be possible based on this news.

Not to jinx anything, but the Smile were included in an article about adjusting touring strategies for carbon omissions, so I'd be surprised if we don't get a Smile tour next year.

Ed has a solo record and a tour to do as well (probably next year). But this rehearsal may be them deciding that those are the last things to complete prior to a return to RH.

It could also be them playing Bends stuff because there's been murmurs of there being a Bends reissue next year for the album's 30th anniversary

More inclined to think we'll get a tour than a tour and album.

I could see it being Smile tour through spring-summer/fall next year, Ed stuff late next year into early 2026, Radiohead album sometime mid-late 2026 earliest

This is for sure an option. Death grips did a massive NA/UK tour without even acknowledging an album or new music whatsoever 5 years after their last. Could also do some one off shows and then go into album mode too

I doubt it'd be that quick though because AMSP took 2014-2016 to record and release
