A guy that doesn’t live in the US does not have the authority to speak on what’s big in the US or not, he’s literally getting his information from a chart

No one with half a brain would tell you that My Turn was a bigger moment than GNX

Maybe not a bigger peak but i feel GNX wont have the legs My Turn had

Gnx will have great legs but its crazy how much My Turn has lasted

    It’s literally not

CLB did 743M streams first week, even with YouTube included ICEMAN did 200M+ less than that

    Ok reading back and no

Gnx isnt bigger than My Turn. At least not right now

it will amount to nothing but Drake fans just talking about numbers and Drake’s lifestyle they think they part of lmaoo

most drake fans are just enjoying the music
he as no 1 numbers wise even without dropping s*** and during the dot era

its mostly kbots who are obsessed with numbers and using every angle/excuse to downplay what drake is putting down

numbers wise and general appeal wise it never was a battle, drake is miles ahead of the cole or dot

God y’all gotta give it up

GNX wasn’t a flop at all, It was a very successful album and I’m 100% positive his next album will do similar numbers to Iceman

Iceman a dope album that also performed very well. Drake is not “eliminated” or “finished”

Drake and Kendrick are both huge artists. This constant arguing “drake did these numbers!” “Oh yeah? well Kendrick did these numbers!” Is just so pointless

Objectively Kendrick will most likely not do similar numbers at all. Looking at Drake's monthly listeners when he dropped vs how Kendrick's numbers are trending reflects this. People already heard his album from the beef in GNX. The momentum of it will be dead, especially if he doesn't drop for 1-2+ years.

And It is clear from the sales of the other 2 Drake albums that people are excluding, Iceman would had done 600-700k if he just dropped one album.

There is just a very large gap between Drake and Kendrick commercial wise.

Give it time and you’ll see

How'd she calculate YouTube for Iceman?

she added a guesstimate of filtered streams from his 50 million youtube streams to his total streams then applied the old formula. she subtracted 17 million filtered youtube streams from GNX then applied the new formula

People have been saying Kendrick is "right about to do Drake level numbers with his next project, you'll see" for literally 10+ years on here. It never happens

We have already seen it lol.

Kendrick taking another few years to drop an album isn'g going to change that just like J.Cole is not going to magically eclipse Drake in sales.

Hell younger competition is creeping up on Kendrick because they are more active (commercial sales wise, not creatively of course).

Also saying “iceman would’ve done 700k but he dropped 2 other albums!” Is weird cope for no reason

The other 2 albums didn’t remove 200k sales from Iceman

Kendrick is going to look back and realize him / his team really dropped the ball on capitalizing on his post beef and superbowl bump. They rushed out GNX and when should had took a bit more time imo.

No but you've gotta admit they did divide attention and take at least some streams away, probably mostly on the first day while people went to spin Habibti / Maid of Honor instead of spinning ICEMAN a 2nd/3rd time

It wouldn't have been a 1:1 addition of 200k sales to ICEMAN, but I think he would've at least broken the 500k threshold without other albums to draw attention and streams away. I don't think that's an unreasonable claim

...How is it cope lol? Bro literally sold 200k+ between the other albums. Acting like it's ridiculous people who randomly listened to his secondary albums would had not listened to Iceman at all is crazy lol.

This isn't stan hate. We have to be honest and just acknowledge Drake is much bigger than Kendrick. Drake had way more monthly listeners than Kendrick even before Iceman dropped. This is just simply what the numbers say. Take it up with the numbers lol.

And my estimate was 600-700, a huge range FYI

i choose to believe that kendrick lost so much aura instantaneously with those carti features that it prematurely ended the GNX era and his brief run as the #1 guy. it's not the actual answer but it's the one i'm going with.

    This a fair assessment

Saying the combine total sales of them would just be added to iceman if they didn’t drop is ridiculous tho

Non sarcastically, this is a great point. It showed people the beef was fake and Kendrick didn't really believe what he said.

Kendrick hurt himself and helped Drake recover after the beef by directly contradicting his angles from the beef with that IG song drop, Carti collabs and SZA interview.

If he stood on his claims in interviews, said f the awards shows and superbowl, people would had been like wow he was really serious about Drake. Instead now it just seems like low hanging fruit.

When the collabs with Carti dropped, tons of people were talking about why he would collab with him. I talked to people IRL about it and convos were all over social media. There were articlea written about it. So yes, people were talking about it
