Was the lost thick NJ accent an intentional stylistic choice or no?
It's more prominent during the whole Kevin Finnerty stuff
I remember an user in The Wire thread asked what scene would you show to someone who has never seen the show and for me, despite being a lil bit spoilery, it would be this one because it perfectly encapsulates the show themes without releasing too much info about the characters, plus the song choice was top-notch.

JFK mistress... s***s crazy, underrated episode and the whole Happy Birthday scene makes the viewer feel truly uncomfortable with how out of place it felt lmao.
why the plotlines in this show when there is a rapper involved tend to be subpar?
Bout to go to the sopranos house
Any requests?

Stylistic choice is my guess
Meet The Grahams was basically Dr Melfi spilling out confidential client information.

Not enough black folk involved or consulted
I really love this show though lol, it's hard not to consider it in the upper echelon.
There's so many things I love about the show
The cinematography/directing work is just masterful really. So many camera shots in this show make the viewer, imo, wonder of the intent. Did they mean to linger on that moment for so long? what was the point? were they trying to tell us something or instead just faking us out. they do this so often it's so good
a pristine example of it was the grenade in the Soprano household. I dont believe I have seen that resurface yet.
secondly, the multi storylines. so much to wonder really. the middle eastern dudes, what's their slant? the Russians still in play. so many things.
lastly, how they tell the story. not every episode, but some have these mini stories within the larger picture such as the redevelopment of the North Ward. They weave this general idea of neighborhood gentrification and redevelopment into the main story in such an amazing, relatively speaking thought provoking way.
