D-Mac is a legend.
I know retiring numbers isn't big in the NFL but I wish we could go back and unretire a couple of the old school ones and retire some of the dynasty ones. McCourty would be a number retirement IMO. let's say we could only pick 4 from the dynasty, I would go:
Brady
McCourty
Gronk
Wilfork
RIP D-Mac

I'd choose the same 4

Absolutely zero disrespect towards Wilfork but it would be a toss up between him and Hightower for me
Not trying to fan the flames of a Brady vs Belichick debate but I will say it sometimes feels like he still makes decisions as if we have Tom around to pick up the slack and elevate the scrubs
Get mac some real weapons. Look what it’s done for the likes of burrow, hurts, tua, etc. Really hope we can get a legit WR1 at the very least
I’m sorry but not matching an 11m a year contract for Jakobi when the WR market is what it is, and when we’ve struggled as much as we’ve struggled at bringing in WRs and having them work in our system is absolutely mind boggling to me. Maybe one of the most perplexing Belichick moves (or in this case, non-moves) ever.
I’d get it if he was being offered 15 mil a year like many people thought was the least he’d be offered, but 11 mil? Really?
I'm starting to think either Bill got a really inflated ego or he honestly dgaf about winning anymore...

I like Jakobi. He's a good guy and a dependable football player, but I don't think this is too big of a loss. I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. I understand where you're coming from, but we can fill his spot.

I mean I don’t necessarily think he has a much bigger ceiling or anything, but that level of dependability from a wr is tough to find at 11 million and we suck at drafting them
Wild af that we paid Agholor 13 mil (when the cap was less inflated too) but we’re not willing to give Jakobi 11 mil when he’s done everything asked of him and more
and I agree with you guys that I would have retained Jakobi at that price. I expect us to make a splash at WR this offseason. If so, I won't hate letting him leave. If not, I'll be none to happy with this decision. For now, we wait and see how the offseason shakes out.
juju got the same money as jakobi, why the hell not just keep the better WR
Yup. Feel super bad for Jakobi.
Don’t think this is necessarily guaranteed to turn out horribly, I just don’t see the upside (kind of like the Agholor signing).
