People did turn fast but most die hard fans of Chance that I speak with (even dudes who used to be on his team) and me included feel like he got lost in the sauce. He drops a great project in Coloring Book and then disappears for 3 years. During that 3 years we got mid Christmas tapes and lackluster features. He would post amazing snippets that fans loved and would've pushed to help him get his buzz back but he chose to not drop them. The 4 singles in 2018 were cool but we had to wait two years for that. The Big Day rollout/album was just a complete mess and a big disappointment. He has only his self to blame for where he is at right now.
Those singles (I Might Need Security and the others) were heat idk what happened. I got faith he can pull it back together on the next one
Outside of KTT most people did like Coloring Book. But on KTT and irl, hardly anyone liked The Big Day.
whats promising tho is everyone pooped on him so hard he is gonna have to go really hard at the next project and make sure its top tier quality and maybe he will even change up his sound. Just please no more weak bars chance

He should’ve dropped this
Im listening to the big day right now and this „lets go on the run“ song is just pure bliss and people clowned on it like this s*** is actually dope as f***
Its crazy how happy and full of life this album is and people turned the narrative into such negativity
He should’ve dropped this

Can't help a nigga who can't help his self. He had Ye basically living with him in 2018 and said they didn't really organize or accomplish anything while he was staying in Chicago. When I heard that I knew he lost his hunger. What artist do you know would blow being in that position?
well said
imo songs like Same D**** really shows the potential of what he is capable of in terms of creativity and writing ability, so hearing songs like hot shower just makes me go
he's a great writer. i almost feel like his personality won't let him rap to his full potential. like he has the heart of early ye, but part of what of made ye ye, was his willingness to be a douche at the same time as praising god, family and talking about heavier stuff. Most rappers have got to have a little a****** in their personality or it doesn't work. Like idk if chance will even get as edgy as Common he'd probably get some bars off if he was ghostwriting for someone who can deliver that fuller personality. or maybe he just doesn't have it in him past those first couple projects. his best work is pretty concept driven and focused like ye's best stuff, maybe he ran out of angles he could really focus in on

maybe he really did lose his hunger, that snippet sounded great. even if it was deleted are you telling me they were so lazy they couldn't be bothered to re-make his best single option
And yeah, Melly, 6ix9ine, Pump all managed to get minor or major hits out of Ye, and Kanye probably actually likes Chance more and he didn't even do a hook on his album
he was already on thin ice with the public because of Coloring Book. The Big Day was the dagger
What switch up? His hype was huge early 2016 its his own fault he dropped a mediocre project.
And it continued to be his fault when he dropped an awful debut album.
The switch up was deserved.

you live and you learn, a lot of good artist drop a dud at some point. it just comes down to how you will come back after
TBD doesn’t sound bad enough for anyone to get switched up on the way he did, that subject matter really alienated the ppl who hate their lives
lmao i just wanted a break from this work i'm getting through at the moment and i type fast. i hate working from home (obviously feel lucky i can but it gets really same-y)
I felt like chance was positioned to be one of the bigger rap stars so it's interesting what happened to him. maybe newer stars with a rap-dominated sound can't last like they used to? the long-lasting careers from this half of the decade have been people like Travis
Huh
