RIP_ActavisMy biggest issue with this is it feels like he set out to make a record that sounds like what PEOPLE like rather than what HE likes
It very much ticks all the boxes of what is popular and 'in' at the moment
- Spacey Travis-esque production
- Psychedelic trap-beats with Mike Dean outros
- Contemporary 'trap' features (Pop Smoke, Skepta, Trippie)
Whereas MOTM1 & 2 feel like records in which he was just making music
that reflected HIM best, whatever sound that took shape in didn't matter -
This record feels very conscious of what's popular at the moment, and then proceeds to shape itself around thatYou nailed how I feel about this. Of course nothing is wrong with this and it makes sense for the Cudi comeback. Its just not what some of us were expecting or wanted from an album called Man on the Moon 3
