All the NBA pages I follow and whenever an NBA player wants to speak up or has Covid all the white people are pretty much saying just play and dibble.
It’s f***ed!
That’s why I f*** with Kyrie.

I’m sure there’s still a good chunk of white hip hop fans who are genuine. I was like 5 years old when I first heard hip hop it was one of the first genres of music I was introduced to. I had no idea of the history and truth of it though. I just naturally liked what I heard.
this isn’t retaliation against your post btw I agree completely I just think the outlier needs to be addressed on my part as a white consumer.

Shut up c**
I feel like if u just enjoy hip hop or sports and aren’t interested in politics it’s fine
If u use your fandom of sport or hip hop to say racist bullshit then you’re not a fan, but you don’t have to be politically or socially woke to enjoy any of them

Will you stop crying like a b****
Racism and systemic racism discussions should have a whole lot more nuance than they do these days. This year made everything 100% black or white and I think that’s hurting the conversation.
Most people aren’t bad, so try and attack the specific behaviors that are harmful instead of the entire person. It will make them more receptive, and will make it easier for both sides to come to a reasonable solution.
Next OP is going to come with the breaking news that hip hop is being controlled by a certain group of people that have been profiting off black people for years
Speaking from experience I think it depends on how you were raised. If a white kid is raised in a racist household where he is taught that Black people are lesser than he is, and whatnot, if they eventually start to dive into hip hop (which they often do) those sentiments will still pop up even if they are “enjoying the art” in the ways like you said such as not seeing them as anything more than entertainers.
I feel like the same can’t be said for white kids who grew up in households where racism wasn’t something you were taught growing up. I’ve found that there’s more of a human connection made if the music is really speaking to you. At that point the kid is probably just attracted to whatever it is their favorite artist is saying and cling to it.
Yall gotta go back to country sorry
