On the real thought I think Tyler stopped rapping as much too early in his career, and thats causing the overrated feeling to come out.

OF not doing stuff together anymoe I feel like was the predecessor to that happening tbh. I think the folks close to him naturally brought out the rapping side of tyler and he left that to explore the vocal aspect, which is just fine. I just wish hed combine it with rapping.

I would say he can be cringe at times, and its real hard to change that image out of people to respect him more, kinda like some people cant look past the singing aspect of Drake to get thru to the rapping.

If he'd drop a nonconcept/concept album with beats as dark as goblin, but rapping most of the way through, he'd get out of that bubble. He has a great flow fr and idk why he doesnt go there more

I can definitely understand early in his career cats passing on him. Nigga was a weirdo and his beats were also very weird for many of the popular rappers out around the time he wasn't as known. Part of the reason why the only rappers who were taking his beats were either from OF, or were Maxo Kream, Mac Miller, and $ilkmoney.

His R&B/pop cuts he produced for Kali Uchis, SZA, Brent Faiyaz, and Snoh Aalegra are very good though. Which is why I'm kinda surprised he hasn't been producing for more R&B artists lately. Feel like he could make some very good tracks with Ari Lennox, Alex Isley, or even Summer Walker.

Because his change is MORE ORGANIC HE BEEN WRITING SCRIPTS FOR ALBUMS, A TV SHOW AND CHANGING PRODUCTION METHODS. He has loosies and royalty and other things that make the shift make sense he isnt doing the shift for awards nor are most of them award worthy songs

Like you say you prefer Donald Glover and yes, as far as TV/media goes, Donald Glover is a WAYYYYY better writer than Tyler is (even though Loiter Squad has some GOAT moments)
