They took forever with some of those singles, but they sent some orders twice so in the end, it doesn't bother me.
I don't understand the frustration of waiting a long time for something to deliver as long as it eventually comes
i'd be ok with waiting if the artists were more upfront about production delays
Prices for albums are too high for consumers, quality control on the records themselves are hit or miss, musicians(especially in the underground) are not able to meet demands due to the limited amount of record pressing plants as well as first priority favoritism for the big name artists (Adele and Taylor come to mind)
what do yall think
Ebay n Discogs exist, know which version of the album your buying and who pressed it , Third Man , Pirate Press , Sly vinyl....
for comparison, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below which is also 4 LPs is priced around $40
Hmm when was the Outkast reissue put out? There's a materials problem with vinyl at the moment, right? Costs more/harder to get your hands on in 2022
you're right. sometimes i've had to settle for CDs just because the vinyl is too expensive or because it was never pressed in the first place
I think owning physical copies of your favorite art is important these days regardless of what form it is just because it seems like we’re moving further away from owning anything. Crazy but true

i've come across deals on eBay and Discogs, but those are few and far between. a lot of old heads think "vintage = $$$"
i understand the different pressings and what not as a vinyl fanatic, but there's no way in hell that a first pressing of certain popular albums should be more than $40 - $50. they all have the same lacquers and all sold a s*** ton of copies

as far as i'm aware, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below has never gone out of print. ik that certain editions have My Favorite Things and some dont, but that's about it

that's the fun of collecting physical media bro. you never know when they're gonna take s*** down cough Doggystyle and The Chronic cough
Very much agreed and what I have been saying in these threads.
While it's easy to look at it as the music industry blooming post-COVID, some of these practices are ultimately leading to a precedent being set that does have a negative effect on smaller artists and music fans.
hopefully when this era dies down, s*** will be much cheaper. i'm predicting a CD comeback in the next 5 years or so just because of the current state of the economy and it's so much easier to distribute CDs
CDs are already coming back. Prices have risen in the last few years
I just cop the CD if the vinyl prices are outrageous. I'm actually fine waiting a long time for my records. I'm sure it's bullshit in regards to what they tell us about their production, but I don't really care much so long as I get it.

the audiophile market is getting f***ing ridiculous too. they’re charging $150 for the recent steely dan reissues, which is f***ing hilarious to me because those albums were already made with audiophiles in mind i blame the consumers for that one though because they’ll eat anything up from those labels
Only need a vinyl of your absolute favs and get the rest you like on CD
Also this. Really ain't nothing wrong with copping CDs. Having a big ass tower of power hits just as hard as having a bookcase of records I promise lol

can't wait to buy the thrift store classic Pieces of You by Jewel for $30 in 2030
i ordered KSG directly from the site and as soon as i saw it in record stores around October, i cancelled that s*** so quickly
that whole Frank Ocean s*** is still crazy to me
Dude shipped out "VOTE" posters before his vinyls thats crazy

i'm just surprised the vinyl market is somewhat stable in terms of profit post-COVID
It doesn't bother me paying a little more so that it'll be tougher for resellers to profit. 95% of the vinyl I purchase are from smaller, mostly independent artists.
Adele shutting down vinyl production worldwide doesn't get talked about enough
and guess what? all those copies she ended up pressing are all half-priced because nobody bought into that s***. she f***ed up the pressing plants so bad, only to end up at Dollar General bargain bins
Dude shipped out "VOTE" posters before his vinyls thats crazy
the madman i still got mine somewhere
here's an example for yall
the retail price for the recent reissue of All Eyez On Me is $80 (ik it's cheaper on Amazon, but other places list it for the retail price)
Classic album but Jesus Christ
