What was the context in which the word was being said?
I feel like a lot of the reason a lot of black people tend to vocalize support in these situations, is because white liberal America routinely commandeers the discussion of the word from black people and inserts grievance on their behalf.
That's not to say every black person appreciates the word being said -- even in the case of a discussion about the word -- but almost nobody thinks a white person is racist just because they said nxgger with no other context
idk i don’t think defending someone a different race from you makes you that or a “race traitor” as i’ve seen some people say
i get that the video of him saying the n word multiple times changes things and no one should defend that (and i don’t think anyone in their right mind is). he apologized, didn’t double down, and acknowledged he was wrong
it was over 10 years ago and he’s obviously not some alt right racist nazi
i don’t even watch him (especially since he moved to spotify) but he definitely had a hit job on him
even the breakfast club is defending him kind of lol
Because it ain't that big of a deal. He used the word in context and not in a derogatory way.
Black people think other black people have to think the way they do or else they get labeled as "Coon" or "slave" it's f***in sad

Site lacks nuance no point in trying
The way anyone is caping for him is absurd lmao
Dude said some wild s***, acknowledge it then move on

This is a coon response
People can be great here and still have flaws there.
I never cared for Joe and I still don’t. Interesting to see people so invested in this
Nah bro, this man straight up told this mixed dude, he’s a powerful combo: mind of a white dude and body of a black dude. Then said he walked in a movie theater full of black people and said it was like a scene of the planet of the apes. These vids been out for years
Tariq exposed this years ago, but never cared because it was Tariq Nasheed
A non Black American (no ties to slavery) states “I’m black (which he isn’t) I can speak on this (which he shouldn’t)” defends a white American on his views on Black Americans by saying “Joe Rogan is my nigga”
People are clapping and cheering this on. Meanwhile the only American Black Person on the panel sits stoically in disagreement.
Do people not see what’s wrong here?
I kinda hate the “there’s bigger stuff to worry about” narrative when it comes to racism. Why is it so bad to speak on everything? If people wanna go about racism regarding celebrities with cult like followings let them call that s*** out, people can do THAT and talk about “more important” issues regarding race. Why is it always one way or the other with these topics man lol. You can discuss every aspect, if you care about more important issues, go make them threads then.

The word shouldn’t have come out of his mouth lol plus he’s said other suspect things. If any nigga throw the cape on he’s a weak link.

It’s a nice and complicated way of saying “SHUT THE F*** UP,THIS TOPIC MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE”

If he was calling people Niggas, I would take issue with it. We have bigger issues to worry about.
