It won’t be bad but I really wanna see his directorial debut more than anything for me to fully see his vision, and whatever reception this gets won’t stop him (The Idol didn’t), that’s too pessimistic of a statement.

Critics response to Scarface and Al Pacino’s acting was negative when it released but it’s a classic now. Not comparing the two, but that initial response shouldn’t kill a creatives drive to try again.

This is no more than an accompaniment to the album with Abel’s ideas funnelled through Trey for him to execute. Hopefully within the next decade or less we see “Directed by Abel Tesfaye”
